    • PURPOSE:To control effectively the rolling of a steel plate in a continuous rolling mill or reversible rolling mill by measuring a rolling size, temp., rolling load, and roll gap in a front stage stand and detecting the rate of elongation by rolling in the case of performing feed forward control with the thickness and width of a plate as a target in a rear stage stand. CONSTITUTION:A load and roll gap S are sampled, with the pulse signal from a pulse generator 5 of a post stage rolling mill 3 as a trigger, after a rolled material 1 is bitten in the rear stage rolling mill in the stage of rolling the material 1 with a front stage rolling mill 2 and the mill 3. A gage meter thickness is then calculated in real time and the rate of elongation of the material 1 in the mill 3 is determined with a tracking device 10 by using the calculated value, and the calculation for correcting the position is performed occasionally from the determined rate of elongation, whereby the rate of elongation is controlled. The rolled material is thus positioned with good accuracy and the phase deviation in feed forward controlled variable DELTAS is prevented.

    • PURPOSE:To extremely improve the product yield, by determining the optimum edging amount in the direction L and C from the size of the material and product, by using this optimum edging amount in carrying out the edging pass in the direction C before the broadside rolling pass, and in carrying out the edging pass in the direction L after the broad-side rolling pass, and then, by carrying out the finishing pass. CONSTITUTION:When the thick plate is to be rolled by the thick plate rolling mill comprising the horizontal and vertical rolls, the rolling schedule is made up from the sizes of material and product; in which, the DBT elongation, the spread ratio, the elongation by the finishing pass, and the aimed hot breadth, are determined. The optimum edging amount in the direction L and the optimum crop amount just before the edging pass in the direction L are obtained from aforementioned elongation by the finishing pass; the optimum edging amount in the direction L, and the total breadth transformation by the following rolling schedule, are forecasted, and the aimed hot breadth for realizing the aimed cold breadth is determined. The optimum edging amount in the direction C is calculated from the DBT elongation, the spread ratio, and the optimum crop amount just before the edging pass in the direction L. The finishing pass is carried out after performing the edging passes with the optimum edging amounts in the directions L and C respectively.
