    • PURPOSE: To improve the combustion efficiency of raw materials to be sintered, to decrease the amt. of NOx in waste gases and to produce sintered ore with good productivity by floating the sintered ore on the pallet of a Dwight-Lloyd sintering machine with plural electromagnets, thereby improving air permeability. CONSTITUTION: A magnetic floating device 70 consisting of the plural electromagnets 7a to 7e is arranged in the upper part of the sintered ore in the progressing direction of the pallet 20 at the time of forming the layer of raw materials for sintered ore contg. coke powder as fuel onto the cyclically moving pallet 20, firing the raw material layer in an ignition furnace 50 and burning the coke powder in the raw material layer by the downward suction of the air by a blower suction duct 60, thereby sintering the raw material layer. The sintered ore is sucked and floated by these electromagnets to form a gap between the pallet 20 and the sintered ore, by which the air permeability of the sintered ore including the pallet and the combustion efficiency of the powder coke in the raw materials are improved. In such a case, the parameter of the relation between the previously determined target electromagnetic force and the current value to be energized is preset and controlled by determining the currents to be energized to the respective electromagnets from the target electromagnetic force of the respective electromagnets 7a to 7e, by which the floatation of the sintered ore by the respective electromagnets is adequately effected.

    • PURPOSE:To decrease the load acting on a lower layer part without contact and to stably produce sintered ore having good quality under high productivity and high yield in an air downward suction system sintering method by magnetically floating sinter cake. CONSTITUTION:The raw materials of a raw material surge hopper 1 are charged by a charging device 3 to a sintering machine 2 and are then ignited in an ignition furnace 4. The raw materials are sintered in the process of gradual downward movement of a combustion zone 5. The part upper than the combustion zone 5 is the sinter cake with which the sintering reaction is completed. The part lower than this zone is the raw materials. A magnetic field is impressed to the sinter cake and/or the combustion zone 5 by a magnetic floating device 6 provided in the upper part of a pallet 2-1 and/or side part to float the sinter cake and to decrease the load to be applied on the raw material layer lower than the combustion zone 5. The air diffusibility in the raw material layer is improved and the combustion of the coke in the raw materials is stabilized, by which the sintering speed is improved.
