    • PURPOSE: To obtain a method for controlling the centering of a steel strip having little development of defective shape of coiling and flaw by reducing the facing interval so as to approach to the steel strip in order from side guides at the front step positioned near the finish rolling mill with interval adjusting mechanism. CONSTITUTION: The steel strip finish-rolled with a finish rolling mill is transported to a coiler 2 while tacking based on the revolutional rate of the rolling mill roll, and the error developed with the tracking is corrected based on a steel strip positioned detecting signal of a first sensor 5a and a second sensor 5b, and the positional data of the steel strip with a sequencer 6 for controlling is revised. At the time of detecting with the sequencer 6 that the front tip part of the steel strip reaches the position between side guides 3a, the sequencer 6 for controlling transmits a working signal to a short stroke cylinder 4a in the interval adjusting mechanism 4a in the interval adjusting mechanism 4 for executing the interval adjustment of the side guides 3a to reduce the interval of the side guides 3a. By this method, the centering is executed at the gap between the steel strip and the side guides.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a hot coil outer periphery after bundling from loosening or a band from being cut, and to reduce fastening time by measuring a temperature of the hot coil outer periphery by a thermometer provided on a bundling machine before tightly attaching the band to the hot coil outer periphery and by fastening and tightening the band with proper fastening force based on the temperature information. SOLUTION: An excessive band is brought back by reversely rotating an air motor 2, and a band is wound around a coil C when a bundling head 1 comes into contact with the coil C. At this time, the bundling head 1 lowers, and before it comes into contact with the coil C, measuring of a temperature of a coil outer periphery is started by a thermometer 2. Based on the correct coil outer periphery temperature information, time from a point when the band is wound around the coil outer periphery until fastening is completed is estimated, and breaking force and elastic limit of the band is obtained from a band surface temperature at the time of fastening completion to obtain fastening force which may cause no breakage. Thereafter transmission of the air motor 2 is changed over to a low speed/high torque side, and the band is fastened by the bundling head 1 for tightening.
