    • PURPOSE:To improve coating efficiency while preventing the generation of unequal coating by supplying a coating material prepd. to a prescribed amt. in the form of a curtain of a prescribed width nearly parallel with the transverse direction of a painting roll onto the surface of this roll and supplying the coating material between both rolls via the painting roll. CONSTITUTION:The paint T is supplied between the coating roll 1 and doctor roll 2 which are disposed at a prescribed spacing between the roll surfaces with paralleling the axes. The coating material which is deposited on the surface of the roll 1 and is discharged downward from between the two rolls 1 and 2 is dropped freely like the curtain downward by a doctor blade 3 provided in contact with the lower part of the roll 1. Further, a body 6 to be coated is passed below the rolls 1, 2 and is coated with the free falling curtain (d) of the paint T. The coating material adjusted to the prescribed amt. is supplied in the form of the curtain of the prescribed width nearly parallel with the transverse direction of the roll onto the surface of the roll 1 or the roll 2 and is supplied between the two rolls 1 and 2 via the surface of the roll 1 or the roll 2. As a result, the unequal coating is prevented and the coating efficiency is improved.

    • PURPOSE: To improve the corrosion resistance of a steel plate after painting by stripping electrolytically the chromate layer sticking to the non-plating surface then grinding the formed oxide film layer in the stage of subjecting the one surface of the steel plate to an electrolytic chromate treatment after electroplating of Zn.
      CONSTITUTION: The steel sheet 2 is introduced through a degreasing tank 3 and a pickling tank 4 into an electroplating tank 5 where Zn or Zn alloy is electroplated on one surface. The steel sheet is then washed and is subjected to the electrolytic chromate treatment 7. After the steel sheet is washed the chromate layer sticking to the non-plating surface is removed in an electrolytic stripping cell 8. Since the overpassive oxide film is formed on the non-plating surface in this stage, the steel sheet 2 is introduced into a washing and grinding installation 9 where the overpassing film on the non-plating surface is ground to at least about 100Å, more preferably about ≤80Å by brush rolls 14 and backup rolls 15 while water is sprayed. The steel sheet is then dried by a dryer 10 and is subjected to painting by a conventional method.
