    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a welding method that can prevent a weld joint from being softened, in a high tension steel plate with an HT value in excess of 0.007. SOLUTION: In the laser welding method for a high tension steel plate in which the HT value in the following (1) equation exceeds 0.007, the method is characterized in that the welding speed is set at 1.0 m/min or faster and that a cooling means is provided which is for cooling the temperature rising portion of the steel plate 1 including proximity to a point 3 to be irradiated with a laser beam. HT=(1+4C-0.1Si-0.1Mn-Nb-Mo)/(Hv(M)-Hv(BM)) (1) provided that C, Si, Mn, Nb and Mo are the content (mass %) of each element, that Hv(M) is the Vickers hardness when the steel plate becomes a full martensite, and that Hv(BM) is the Vickers hardness of the steel plate.
