    • PURPOSE: To efficiently and stably treat divalent iron-contg. waste water by using iron oxide bacteria. CONSTITUTION: The divalent iron in the divalent iron-contg. waste water is oxidized to tervalent iron by the iron oxide bacterial in an aeration tank 3. The treated water oxidized to the tervalent iron is passed through a membrane separator 4 installed in the aeration tank 3, by which the treated water is separated to the treated water and the iron oxide bacteria. The iron-component is recovered by neutralizing the treated water. A ceramic membrane provided with many pores of a diameter of 1 to 20μm is used for the membrane separator 4. The air is continuously supplied from a waste water passing side to the membrane of the membrane separator 4 and the air and/or sulfuric acid is intermittently supplied from the drain water discharge side thereto to wash the membrane and to recover the iron oxide bacteria sticking to the membrane. Then, the iron oxide bacteria are maintained at a high density in the aeration tank and the divalent iron-contg. waste water is efficiently and stably treated. The compact formation of equipment is possible as well.

    • PURPOSE: To make a settling tank of a biological sewage treating device compact by setting an organism immobilizing carrier in, an aeration tank or in an anaerobic tank and throwing in a granular solid material having a specified grain diameter. CONSTITUTION: A granular solid material 4 is thrown in an aeration part 1, an immobilized organism immobilizing carrier 3 is set at an intermediate height of the aeration part 1. Raw water 5 is introduced from the lower part of the aeration part 1, and air 8 is blown in from the lower part of the aeration part 1. Consequently, the org. component in the raw water is brought into contact with activated sludge, and the org. matter is decomposed and removed. The activated sludge is deposited on the carrier 3, and the amt. of immobilized activated sludge is increased. Accordingly, even if the concn. of activated sludge is lowered in a fluidized region, the concn. of the activated sludge effective in the entire treatment of the aeration part 1 is maintained at the same concn. as before. Further, the settling velocity of activated sludge is increased and the water surface area of a settling part 2 is decreased by throwing in the granular solid material 4 having

    • PURPOSE:To stably and efficiently remove an org. matter and a nitrogen compd. by disposing an aerobic and an anaerobic fixed bed type reactor at the post stage of a fluidized bed type reactor, treating a waste water, then bringing the waste water into contact with ozone to remove simultaneously remaining org. matter and nitrogen compd. CONSTITUTION:In the waste water treating method of the org. industrial waste water, a sludge treated water and the city sewerage in which large bulk of the org. industrial waste water inflows, the aerobic fixed bed type reactor 11 and the anaerobic fixed bed type reactor 13 are disposed at the post state of the fluidized bed type reactor 3 using a microorganisms-immobilized carrier. Then, after executing the treatment at both the reactors 11 and 13, moreover, an ozone-contacting tank 24 is being disposed, and the ozone from an ozone- generating device 25 is brought into contact with a biologically treated water to remove simultaneously the org. matter and the nitrogen compd. remaining in the biologically treated water. In this way, the org. matter difficult to be decomposed, which can not be removed by the biological treatment, are removed thoroughly together with the NO2-N remaining slightly, and the COD of the treated water is improved and the treatment is stabilized.
