    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To calculate the life of a wire rope in consideration of damage to the wire rope due to a shock load. SOLUTION: A cargo is lifted up and down via the wire rope and a sheave over which the wire rope is looped by paying out the wire rope from a drum and rewinding the wire rope to the drum. The presence or absence of an actual load of the cargo and a shock load exceeding the actual load by a predetermined amount is detected based on load data of the cargo outputted from a load cell provided in the sheave (step 33). When the presence of the shock load is detected, a value obtained by multiplying a life subtraction value obtained when the presence of the shock load is not detected by a correction coefficient having a value exceeding 1 is subtracted from an estimated life (step 34), and a new estimated life (the remaining usable number of times) of the wire rope is displayed (step 35). Timing for changing from the first term to the latter term, is set to the changing time of the combustion gas temperature and the changing time of the combustion gas flow-rate, respectively, and controlled so as to improve the thermal efficiency.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a long-life roll by electrostatically sticking numberless resin particles which are negatively charged to the surface while rotating a rolling roll, making the parts to which the resin particles are not stuck into fine recessed parts by etching and, by removing the resin particles, forming a fine irregular pattern, the top end of the projecting parts of which is planar and excellent in wear resistance, on the surface of the roll. SOLUTION: The rolling roll 1 is made into a grounded voltage and rotated, the resin particles 11 which are charged into a negative polar and jetted with a powder coating device 10 are electrostatically stuck to the rolling roll 1. The surface of the rolling roll 1 to which the resin particles are stuck is inductively heated with an electromagnetic induction coil and the resin particles 11 are melt-welded and fixed. By etching the surface of the rolling roll 1, the recessed parts are formed in the parts to which the resin particles 11 are not stuck and, when the resin particles 11 are removed by washing with a solvent, the irregular pattern consisting of fine projecting parts and fine recessed parts is formed. Because lubricity is secured and frictional property is also secured by this irregular pattern, the generation of burning and flaws or the like are prevented.

Because high draft rolling is enabled in the early stage of rolling, the accuracy of rolling is raised. Furthermore, dents or the like of the rolled steel strip are reduced and the quality and yield are improved.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely prevent the adhesion of a foreign matter such as scum to a carrying roll by coating a recessed part on the carrying roll surface with a resin. SOLUTION: The recessed part 2 of a carrying roll 1 is coated with a resin 5 to cover and smooth fine irregularities 4 formed on the worked surface (low part or side wall) of the recessed part 2. To form protruding and recessed parts by chemical etching, for example, a resist is applied to the carrying roll surface (whole surface) to sensitize and harden the part corresponding to a protruding part, and the resist in the non-sensitized part (non-hardened part) corresponding to the recessed part 2 is washed and removed. The resist removed part is chemically etched by the contact with an etching solution to form the recessed part 2. Thereafter, the resin is sprayed thereon to cover the recessed part 2, and the resist of the protruding part 3 is then removed. Thus, a foreign matter such as scum is hardly captured by the fine irregularities 4 on the bottom part of the recessed part 2, and the side wall of the recessed part is also smoothed by the resin, so that the adhesion of the foreign matter such as scum thereto can be prevented.
