    • PURPOSE:To enhance the output torque as well as relieve the setting of air-to- fuel ratio on the rich side, by starting water flush in the event of knocking, and by reducing the rate of fuel injection by an amount corresponding to this water flush. CONSTITUTION:While a supercharger is in operation and knockings are generated in the engine, a water flush calculating means calculates the rate of water flush according to the engine output air-to-fuel ratio, and meantime a water flushing means sprays the water at the calculated rate into the engine. At the same time, No.1 rate-of-fuel-injection calculating means calculates the rate of fuel injection so as to provide the engine output air-to-fuel ratio. Thus the output torque is enhanced as well as the setting of air-to-fuel ratio on the rich side can be relieved.

    • PURPOSE:To make the temperature of cylinders uniform by sensing the temp. of the cooling water, which flows into the cylinder situated oppositely to the intake port as well as the cylinder situated in the neighborhood of the exhaust port, and by supplying the cooling water directly to the later named cylinder if it is turned out necessary according to the sensing result. CONSTITUTION:A pump 5 is on its exhaust side equipped with a by-pass line 9, which shall have an opening in the neighborhood of the suction block of No.2 cylinder 3-2 with tendency to run high temperature, and a flow control valve 10 is installed on the way of this line 9. Thermo-sensors 7, 7' for cooling water are furnished in the suction water jacket 6b of said No.2 cylinder 3-2 and No.6 cylinder 3-6 situated backmost. While the engine is in operation, the water temp. in these cylinders 3-2, 3-6 is measured, and the results are entered into a computer 8. Thereby the said by-pas line 9 is opened by the control valve 10, in case the temp. in No.2 cylinder 3-2 has exceeded that in No.6 cylinder 3-6, to cool the No.2 cylinder 3-2 with fresh cooling water.

    • PURPOSE:To effectively perform purification of exhaust gas with the use of a catalyst while maintaining the intrinsic performance of a turbocharger, by regulating a passage valve by means of the temperature of an exhaust gas purifying catalyst and pressure of the air exhausted from a compressor chamber. CONSTITUTION:If the temperature of a catalyst 17 is below a given value, a hydraulic switching valve 23 interconnects an oil pressure introducing port 26 and a first oil port 24 or a pressure bleed port 27 and a second oil pressure port 25. An actuator 100 drives a rod 104 to rotate a passage valve 18 to the outlet passage 20 side so as to close this valve. When the temperature of the catalyst 17 exceeds the given value, the hydraulic switching valve 23 is changed over so that the passage valve 18 may be rotated to the bypass passage 21 side through driving of the rod 104, and the valve is closed. When the pressure of the air exhausted from a compressor chamber 4 exceeds a given value, a third pressure chamber 103 is increased in its pressure to displace the rod 104, and the passage valve 18 slightly releases the bypass passage 21 to reduce the number of revolution of a turbocharger 1 and control a supercharger.

    • PURPOSE:To improve an acceleration characteristic in an engine, by injecting an equal amount of fuel to that of fuel, obtained for its injection into a cylinder, simultaneously into the next cylinder for fuel to be injected so as to correct acceleration fuel, at acceleration of the engine when a change amount of intake air per one revolution of the engine exceeds the predetermined value in the increase direction. CONSTITUTION:During operation of an engine, a computer 9, obtaining an intake air amount Q/N per one revolution of the engine from a signal Ne of a crank angle sensor 7 and an intake air amount signal Q of an air flow meter 10, determines a basic injection amount of fuel. Next, the computer 9 both corrects the basic injection amount of fuel by the other signal of engine operative condition and discriminates a cylinder for fuel to be injected by signals of the crank angle sensor 7 and a cylinder discriminating sensor 8. Then in this case, at acceleration when a change rate DELTAQ/N of the intake air amount Q/N per one revolution of the engine exceeds the predetermined value, an equal amount of fuel to that of fuel, being injected into and metered for a cylinder (a), is simultaneously injected into the next cylinder (b), serving as an acceleration increase of fuel for the cylinder (b).
