    • PURPOSE:To prevent such an inconvenient case where an arithmetic operation is carried out based on an erroneous input signal by superposing a reference signal on an input signal to detect a fault. CONSTITUTION:An analog selector 2 superposes successively the reference signals on the input signals (i) every prescribed time. The signals (i) superposed with the reference signals are alternatively selected by an analog multiplexer 10 and held by a sample-hold circuit 11. Then the selected signals (i) are converted into the digital signals by an A/D converter 12 and supplied to a microprocessor MPU 13. The MPU 13 decides that an input signal is not genuine in the case no reference signal is superposed on the input signal and a superposing signal is detected in addition to the relevant input data. Thus it is possible to decide the fault of the multiplexer 10 and to prevent such a case where the MPU 13 performs an arithmetic output based on the erroneous input signal.

For example, if one preceding terminal equipment of its own terminal equipment is failed, the terminal equipment receiving the data finally is the terminal equipment of two preceding, then the timer setting section 3B outputs the delay time t1 corresponding to the terminal equipment to the timer 3C. A transmission section 3D is started by the output of the timer 3C to sent its own data after a time t1 from the transmission timing of two preceding terminal equipments.

    • PURPOSE:To improve the extent of operating efficiency by installing an intermediate signal station, equipped with a controller with a function similar to that installed in each station, between two stations, and when a preceding train run past this intermediate signal station, making it so as to give such a command as starting a succeeding train. CONSTITUTION:In a device which sets an interval between two stations A and B connected by a single track down to one block section and thereby performs operational control over a train, when a trainman of a train (A) in stoppage at the A station pushes a start button, discrimination data of the train (A) are transmitted out of an antenna (b) from a mounted apparatus (a), giving these data to a controller 1A as a station unit. This controller 1A transmits its identification code to the B station via a transmission line 2. At the B station, when arrival of the train (A) with the said identification code is checked, blocking between these A and B stations is released. In this case, an intermediate signal station C is further set up in an intermediate position between these stations A and B, and when passage of the train (A) is detected hereat, such a command as starting a succeeding train at the A station is made so as to be given.

    • PURPOSE:To detect failures and the like in an optical system without being affected by vehicles, mans and the like that cross the railroad crossing by judging the output of a receptor with the light emission quantity of illuminants controlled during the period of time till a train arrives at the railroad crossing since information that the train came in, is inputted. CONSTITUTION:During the period of time till a train arrives at the railroad crossing 3 after information that the train comes in, is inputted, a crossing gate is lowered at the railroad crossing equipped with a railroad crossing fault detecting device so that traffic is interrupted. During the period of the time, abnormality in the railroad crossing fault detecting device is therefore detected without being affected by traffic crossing the railroad crossing. In this case, abnormality is detected by a control circuit 6 with the light emission quantity of illuminants 41 through 43 controlled. The control of light emission quantity is composed of two modes, that is, suspension of light emission and attenuation in light emisemission quantity. In case of suspension of light emission, abnormal failures are detected as if there were the output of the receptor inspite of no illuminants 41 through 43 operated. In case of attenuation in light emission quantity, degradation in the performance of the illuminants and the receptor is detected, and degradation in margin due to contamination in an optical system starting from the illuminants to the receptor and the like are also detected.
