    • PURPOSE: To prepare dewaxed oil with a good yield consistently over a long period, by bringing hydrocarbon oil into contact with a catalyst consisting of specified crystalline aluminosilicate and fluorine compd.
      CONSTITUTION: A reaction mixt. in gel form consisting of a silica source (e.g. silica gel), an aluminum source (e.g. alumina gel) an alkali source (e.g. NaOH), water and an org. compd. (e.g. methanol) in molar ratios of SiO
      2 /Al
      2 O
      3 = 10W300, H
      2 O/SiO
      2 = 5W100, OH
      - SiO
      2 = 0.01W1.0 and R (org. compd.)/Al
      2 O
      3 ≥0.05, is made to undergo hydrothermal synthesis reaction at 50W300°C for 3 hrW1 month, followed by dealkalization with an acid or an ammonium salt. Resulting crystalline alminosilicate is mixed with a fluorine compd. (e.g. AlF
      3 ) and the mixt. is burned to produce a catalyst. The ctalyst is brought into contact with hydrocarbon oil at a space velocity of 0.1W10 h
      -1 at 200W500°C under pressure of 1W100 kg/cm
      2 in the pressure of H
      2 gas.
