    • PURPOSE:To purify distillated zinc using a small amount of energy consumption by a method wherein molten distilled zinc introduced into a vacuum container is heated and evaporated while being flowed through an evaporation through and purified zinc is discharged through a condenser with recovery through located at lower part of the upper container. CONSTITUTION:Molten distillated zinc 20 is continuously supplied 5 from the high temperature portion of a cooling tapping well 16 through a level tank 11 to evaporation trough 2 in a vacuum chamber 1. The molten distillated zinc 20 is heated to a specified temperature by heaters 4 installed around the container wall, so that distillated zinc and Cd are raised, is passed through the center hole of recovery through 7, and exchanges heat with a condenser 3 installed above the container 1. Zinc condensed and liquefied is flowed along the wall and is collected in the through 7, then is discharged 6 to a product reservoir 12. Meanwhile, the remaining Zn contg.     • PURPOSE: To prepare small-sized zinc shots suitale for blasting consistently with good yield, by allowing molten zinc to drop through a nozzle from a sump into water under controlled conditions of temperature and depth of molten metal, nozzle size, distance between nozzle and surface of water, temperature of water, etc.
      CONSTITUTION: A ceramic nozzle 15 with an orifice diameter of 0.3W0.6mm is provided at the bottom of a sump 13 in a tank 10 which is divided into a molten metal pouring chamber 12 and the sump 13 and a molten zinc heated to 540W 600°C is supplied to the tnak 10 so that the depth of the molten metal may be 30W60cm. Then the molten zinc is allowed to drop through the nozzle 15 into a water tank 1 which is filled with water at 30W50°C to such a level that the distance from the bottom end of the nozzle 15 to the surface of water may be 10mm or smaller. The molten zinc is allowed to cool and solidify and the zinc shots thus formed are led into a taking-up chamber 13 along an inclined bottom wall 4 and are taken out into a collecting container 5.

    • PURPOSE:To manufacture metallic Tl of high purity by making a leached slurry of a Tl-contg. substance using SO2 basic, and after filtering, adding sulfuric acid and H2O2 to the filtrate, carrying out cementation with zinc plate under acidic condition, and melting using molten NaOH bath. CONSTITUTION:Electrolytic solution of lead, clean slag (generally contains 10- 20% Tl and Zn, Cd etc.) produced in Cd refining process is leached with SO2. That is, Na2SO3 is added to the clean slag or SO2 gas is blown into it to reduce Tl from trivalent to monovalent and water soluble. Generated leached slurry is transferred to a leaching tank, adjusted to above pH9.0 by adding NaOH etc., and alkali leaching operation is performed while agitating at room temperature -80 deg.C. Alkali neutralized leach is filtered using a filter press. A small quantity of H2O2 is added to the filtrate, and substitution using a zinc plate is performed keeping the filtrate at pH2-4 with sulfuric acid. Fine granular sponge Tl obtained is dehydrated by pressing, put in molten NaOH bath at 350 deg.C and melted. Impurities are moved to soda slag, and metallic Tl of high purity is obtained.
