    • PURPOSE:To uniformize the cooling speed in the width direction of a steel strip and to prevent the generation of defective shape to the steel strip by cooling the steel strip while partially heating only both edge parts in a cooling zone after annealing, at the time of annealing the cold-rolled steel strip in a continuous annealing furnace. CONSTITUTION:At the time of annealing the cold-rolled steel strip 3 by passing through the continuous annealing furnace composed of a heating zone and soaking zone, the steel strip 3 in the cooling zone is passed through while supporting by rotated pass line rolls 2. In this case, the center part of the pass line roll 2 brought into contact with the steel strip 3, absorbs the heat of the steel strip 3 and the steel strip becomes high temp., but the edge parts thereof brought into no contact with the steel strip 3 does not receive the heat and the temp. thereof is not raised. Therefore, the cooling speed at both edge parts of the steel strip 1 is quicker than the center part in the width direction, and both edge parts are lengthened more than the center part and formed as waving shape in the longitudinal direction and this steel strip becomes defective. In order to prevent this defect, one pair of edge heaters 4 are arranged at both sides of the steel strip 3 and the necessary parts of both edges of the steel strip 3 are partially heated and the development of the defective shape of the waving, etc., is prevented by acting the uniform tension to the whole width direction of the steel strip 3.

    • PURPOSE:To produce economically a titled Ni steel having excellent strength, ductility and toughness, and a characteristic for stopping the propagation of a brittle breaking by hot rolling a specifically composed low carbon steel contg. Si, Mn, Ni, S, Al, and N at a high comulative draft, and cooling quickly the steel at around the transformation point then allowing the steel to cool. CONSTITUTION:A steel contg., by weight %, 0.015% =30% in the un-recrystallization region of austenite and is then cooled at a cooling rate of 5-30 deg.C/sec in a range down to 500-650 deg.C and in succession, the steel is allowed to cool. The un-tempered low temp. Ni steel having >=33kg/mm. yield strength and >=45kg/mm. tensile strength is thus produced. A part of said Fe may be replaced with >=1 kind among 0.1- 1.0% Cr, 0.05-0.5% Mo, 0.005-0.1% V, 0.005-0.03% Ti, etc. according to need.
