      CONSTITUTION: The fan-shaped tables 38W41 are arranged respectively below the plural opening parts 33W36 of an intermittent loop ordination which is formed by both the cylindrical distributor 31 set at the central position of the end opening part of the main body 30 of an quenching furnace and the opening edge 32A of the end of the main body of the quenching furnace. Each of the fan-shaped tables 38W41 is capable of reciprocating horizontally and freely in the radius direction of the main body of the quenching furnace through the rails 45 and the wheels 44, and when the fan-shaped tables 38W41 are reciprocated successively, given amounts of coke are taken out from the opening parts 33W36 successively.

    • PURPOSE: To reduce the height of an apparatus and to quench coke efficiently, by a method wherein quenching chambers are adjoined to one another in a horizontal direction, prechambers are arranged in such a manner that they are put upon the quenching chambers, and a cooling recycle gas is transversely blown against coke which is transversely moved.
      CONSTITUTION: The main body 25 of a quenching furnace has a lower layer part 25A, where a plurality of quenching chambers A, A are adjoined to one another in a horizontal direction, and an upper layer part 25B where prechambers B, B communicating with each of the quenching chambers A, A are adjoined to one another in a horizontal direction. Further, the main body 25 is provided with a cooling recycle gas passage 31 which transverses each of the quenching chambers A, A. Red hot coke is introduced through a charging port 39 into each of chambers 35, 36, 37, in the upper layer part 25B. Then the coke is introduced into each of the quenching chambers A, A. The cooling recycle gas through a header pipe 33 is blown into each of chambers 26, 27, 28, 29 in the lower layer part 25A. The gas is nearly equally divided and supplied to each quenching chamber A, and is blown through the gas passage 31. In this way, coke can be quenched with high efficiency, and at the same time the total height of the furnace can greatly be reduced because the prechambers are arranged so as to put them upon each quench chamber.

    • PURPOSE: To build up the titled apparatus which is economical and in which safety and efficiency are high, by a method wherein red hot coke is supplied to a plurality of main bodies of quenching furnaces by means of the slewing motion of a girder, said main bodies being provided at equal distances from the guided center of the girder.
      CONSTITUTION: On both sides of a grider crane 26 having a grider 25, the main bodies 26, 26 of quenching furnaces are provided in such a manner that their furnace centers are adjusted with each other at equal distances from the guided center 31 of the girder 25. A bucket 5 containing red hot coke is put on a truck 30, and moved to a lifting position, where the bucket 5 is lifted by the hoisting mechanism 27 of the girder 25. The girder 25 is revolved upon its shaft 31 in a 90° arc and in a required direction to position the bucket just above the quenching furnace 26, and then the red hot coke in the bucket 5 is thrown into the furnace 26.

    • PURPOSE:In a dry extinguishing furnace for coke, the secondary cooling gas is blown from the undermost part of the gas-blowing funnel in the cooling chamber to extend the cooling zone, thus enabling the contraction of the volume of the cooling chamber, resulting in increase in the cooling efficiency of the dry extinguishing of coke. CONSTITUTION:In a dry extinguisher for coke, the first cooling gas inlet 12 is formed with funnels 11 and 11a beneath the furnace 10. The circulation gas is heat exchanged, sent through a ring pipe 13 and the inlet 12 into the chamber and distributed by the distributor 15 on the center, thus cooling the red-heated coke in the furnace. Then, the secondary cooling gas is blown in through another inlet 22 for the secondary cooling gas at the undermost end of the funnel 11 and/or through the third inlets 23 on the upper hopper 18 which is placed beneath the funnel 11. The cooled coke is cut out by the cutting gate 17 into the upper hopper 18 and sent out to the lower hopper 20 by opening the upper trap 19.

    • PURPOSE: To keep boiler function even when coke can not be cut down from lower part and to prevent the residence of gas in a furnace, by a method wherein in a cooling gas-forced circulation system the downstream side of a waste-heat boiler is connected to the top part of a furnace, and a by-pass pipe line is provided which is opened as the occasion demands.
      CONSTITUTION: The downstream side of a waste-heat boiler 25 is connected to the top part of a quenching furnace 25, and a by-pass pipe line 43 is provided which is opened as the occasion demands. When the supply of cooling gas becomes impossible by a trouble, an on-off valve 45 is adjusted and an on-off valve 44 is opened. The cooling gas is passed through the by-pass pipe line 43 into a duct 42, and then into the top part 38 of the furnace. Then the gas is contacted with red hot coke which is placed within a prechamber 25A and is not quenched under normal conditions. The gas heated to a high temperature is forcedly recycled through a throughhole 30, a circular gas 29, a duct 32, a waste-heat boiler 31 and a blower 34 to the by-pass pipe line 43. In this way, the same quantity of heat as during normal operation can be supplied to the waste-heat boiler 31. Since the recycling of the gas is continued, the prechamber is prevented from being filled with combustion gas.

    • PURPOSE: To use effectively the waste heat of coke, by making the quenching furnace part of a slant closed chute-shaped structure, connecting the ends of a boiler to the bottom part of the recovering chamber for circulating gas for cooling set above the quenching furnace part and to the top of the recovering chamber for powder coke.
      CONSTITUTION: The quenching furnace part 27 consists of a slant huge closed chute-shaped structure, and a circulating gas for cooling introduced from the bottom is brought into contact with coke in the quenching furnace part 27 almost entirely. The recovering chamber 29 for circulating gas for cooling is arranged above the quenching furnace part 27, and the recovering chamber 30 for powder coke is communicated with the bottom of the recovering chamber 29. The boiler 31 with its bottom end connected to the bottom end of the gas recovering chamber 29 and to the top end of the powder coke recovering chamber 30 consists of an integrated structure, and the temperature of the circulating gas for cooling is kept high until the boiler 31 is utilized.
