    • PURPOSE:To enable complete collection of the dust generated during refining by a dust collecting hood of a ladle refining device for a metal provided with electrodes by forming the above-mentioned dust collecting hood in such a manner that the hood can be moved upward and downward with respect to a water-cooled cap of the ladle. CONSTITUTION:The dust collecting hood 5 having electrode insertion holes is provided to the upper part of the water-cooled cap 3 having the same electrode insertion holes of the ladle refining device provided with the graphite electrodes 4. The dust collecting hood 5 is so constructed that the hood can be moved upward and downward by hydraulic or other methods. An annular projecting part 3b is formed on the peripheral edge of each electrode insertion hole of the cap 3 and an annular step part 5b engaging with said annular projecting part 3b is formed on the peripheral edge in the electrode insertion part of the hood 3. The hood 3 is lowered to engage the annular step parts 5b with the annular projecting parts 3b of the cap 2 at the time of subjecting a molten iron 1 in the ladle 2 to ladle refining by the energization of the electrodes 4. The dust generated in the ladle during the refining is thereby completely collected into the hood 5 and the leakage of the dust to the outside of the ladle and the consequent pollution of the working environment are obviated.

    • PURPOSE:To uniformly attract dusts and to improve the collecting efficiency of the dusts by connecting an attracting duct corresponding to each electrode position at an outer marginal part of a dust collecting hood having penetrating holes for three phase electrodes. CONSTITUTION:The attracting ducts 7 are connected at the positions corresponding to the three electrode 4 positions at the outer marginal part of the dust collecting hood 5. In this way, by attracting uniformly the dusts exhausted from the electrode inserting holes of a water cooling cover 3, the collecting efficiency of the dusts is improved. In this case, as the dust collecting hood 5 is arranged as shiftable vertically, and also is formed as an annular projecting part 3a at the margin of the electrode inserting hole of the water cooling cover 3 and an annular step part 5a, engaging with the projecting part 3a, at the margin of the electrode penetrating hole of the dust collecting hood 5, quantity of the sucking air is decreased and furthermore, the collecting efficiency of the dusts is improved.

    • PURPOSE:To prevent the invasion of the outside air in the inside of a water cooling cover through electrode inserting holes at the time of refining by bringing a dust collecting hood into closely contact with the water cooling cover, controlling a suction force of a dust collector as keeping the pressure at the electrode inserting part of the water cooling cover to the slight positive pressure and also introducing inert gas in the inside of the water cooling cover. CONSTITUTION:The dust collecting hood 5 has penetrating holes for penetrating the electrodes 4 and is arranged so as to move vertically. At the time of the refining, the dust collecting hood 5 is descended and brought into closely contact with the water cooling cover 3. And, the dusts are collected under condition as keeping the pressure at the electrode 4 inserting part of the water cooling cover to the slight positive pressure by controlling an inlet damper of the dust collector, connected with a suction duct 6. At the same time, the inert gas is introduced in the inside of the water cooling cover 3, to keep the positive pressure in the inside of the water cooling cover 3. In this way, the invasion of the outside air in the inside of the water cooling cover 3 is prevented and therefore the increases of N2 concentration in the molten steel and the oxidizing loss of alloy are prevented.

CONSTITUTION:The water cooling cover 3 having the electrode inserting holes is fitted on a ladle 2, pouring molten steel 1 and three-phase electrodes 4 are inserted into the molten steel 1 to execute heating and refining. The dust collecting hood 5 having electrode 4 penetrating holes, faced to the water cooling cover 3 is equipped, so as to move vertically by hydraulic pressure, etc., and at the time of heating stage, the dust collecting hood 5 is ascended to execute dust collecting at the position of slow dust ascending speed and the pressure in the inside of the water cooling cover 3 is made to the positive pressure. Further, at the time of no heating stage, the dust collecting hood 5 is brought into closely contact with the water cooling cover 3 to execute the pressure control in the ladle. In this way, the exhausting dusts from the electrode inserting holes are perfectly collected, and also the invasion of the outside air in the inside of the water cooling cover 3 is prevented.

    • PURPOSE:To adjust nitrogen concn. in molten steel at high accuracy by blowing circulating gas into the molten steel sucked up into a degassing vessel to circulate the molten steel between the degassing vessel and a molten steel vessel and blowing nitrogen gas on the molten steel surface in the vessel in accordance with inner pressure in the vessel. CONSTITUTION:Tubes 12, 14 are dipped into the molten steel 4 in a ladle 2 and the molten steel 4 is sucked up into the degassing vessel 10. Mixed gas of N2 and Ar is blown into molten steel flowing passage in the tube 12 through a fine tube 13 to rise the molten steel 4. The molten steel 4 sucked up into the vessel 10 descends in the other tube 14 and returns back to the ladle 2. Then, the nitrogen gas contained in the gas is dissolved into the molten steel 4, and the nitrogen concn. is raised. At the time of adding alloy material into the molten steel 4, the reaction in the vessel 10 is changed and the inner pressure is varied. This inner pressure in the vessel is detected with a detector 20, and based on this, the nitrogen partial pressure is grasped with the nitrogen gas supplying device 22 and the nitrogen gas is directly blown on the molten steel surface.
