    • PURPOSE: To prevent the diffusion of outer air into a vessel and the absorption of nitrogen into molten steel by passing inert gas in a gas passage during RH degassing treatment. CONSTITUTION: The gas passages 43, 44, 45 are formed so as to surround molten steel flowing passages 24a, 25a of a circulating tube 23 in a circulating tube refractories 32, 33 at the upper part from a connecting part of the lower vessel 11 of an RH degassing apparatus 10 and immersion tubes 24, 25. During degassing treatment, the inert gas is passed in the flow rate range of 5-50Nm /hr into the gas passages 43, 45 only in the downtake side refractory. The inner parts of the circulating tube refractories 32, 33 are made in the inert gas atmosphere and the molten steel 5 passed through the molten steel flowing passages 24a, 25a of the circulating tube 23 is shut off from the outer air. Further, at the time of blowing gaseous argon into the molten steel passage 24a from a gas blowing pipe 28, the molten steel 5 is sucked up into the lower vessel 11 from a ladle and thereafter, the molten steel is descended in the other immersion tube 25 and returned back into the ladle from the lower vessel 11.

    • PURPOSE:To automatically stop steel-tapping from a converter by detecting molten steel height in a ladle and, on the other hand, detecting flow-out of slag in the converter from a steel-tapping hole at the time of tapping the steel in the converter. CONSTITUTION:At the time of tapping the molten steel from the converter, the molten steel surface height in the ladle (a first molten steel surface height in the ladle) to detect whether the slag is flowed out or not from the steel-tapping hole based on raw material charged quantity and the molten steel surface height (a second molten steel surface height in the ladle) to stop the steel-tapping, are calculated, respectively. While detecting the molten steel surface height in the ladle and whether the slag is flowed out or not from the steel-tapping hole, when the molten steel surface height in the ladle becomes to the first molten steel surface height or higher in the ladle and the slag is detected or when the molten steel surface height becomes the second molten steel surface height or higher, the steel-tapping is stopped. By this method, at the time of tapping the molten steel from the converter, the flow-out of the slag into the ladle and the overflow of the molten steel, etc., from the ladle can automatically be prevented, thus contributing to the automation of steelmaking operation.

    • PURPOSE:To efficiently produce a low phosphorus molten iron while utilizing melting of large quantity of scrap by charging the prescribed quantity of molten iron and a large quantity of scrap into a converter, executing dephosphorize-refining, leaving unmolten scrap and tapping steel. CONSTITUTION:Into converter or the converter-type refining vessel, the prescribed molten iron and quantity of more than the wt. possible to be melted in a single dephosphorizing treatment, are charged. Successively, the prescribed quantities of refining agent and oxygen are charged into this refining vessel to execute the deposphorize- refining. Thereafter, the refining vessel is tilted, and while leaving the unmolten scrap in the vessel, the molten low phosphorus iron after refining is discharged into a carrying vessel. Successively, in the condition of leaving the unmolten scrap, the prescribed molten iron is charged into the refining vessel to execute dephosphorize-refining. At this time, in the dephosphorize-refining after the second time, the melting of the remained scrap is promoted in the sufficiently preheated condition. By this method, the low phosphorus molten iron is obtd. while utilizing melting of a large quantity of scrap without generating extension of the refining time, scrap working process, oxidizing loss of C in the molten iron, etc.
