CONSTITUTION:An operator 10 which estimates and operates the unsolified leading end position in an ingot is provided to a control system for an ingot forcing roll group 3 in compression casting. The group 3 is divided to plural blocks A, B. The adequate forcing force and adequate cylinder pressing force of the time when the unsolidified leading end position (a) positioned in an ingot conveying roll group 4 comes to the position of the group 3 are calculated by an arithmetic device 10. The time when the leading end position (a) arrives at the block A until it passes through the block B is calculated. The signals of the forcing force and pressing force are fed via a controller 7 to an electric motor controller 6 and an oil hydraulic controller 9, which set the roll forcing force and cylinder pressing force in the respective blocks A, B always at the correct values.

    • PURPOSE:To accurately and readily manufacture a rudder mounting part even if the entire length of the rudder is long by dividing a boring bar which is opened with a measuring hole, passing the bar through a rudder carrier, while the upper and lower parts are inserted through gudgeons, correcting the position of the bar, then securing the bar and boring them. CONSTITUTION:A boring bar 20 is composed of three members 21, 22, 23, which are integrated by connectors 24, 25, 26, 27, and a measuring piano wire 9 is passed through the axial hole. The bar 20 is passed through a rudder carrier 2, upper and lower parts are inserted through gudgeons, while linearizing the bar 4, 5, with a measuring hole 43, and a radial bearing 28 is secured by a regulator 32. The bar is then rotated by a drive unit 33, and the rudder carrier sheet 2 and the top and the bottom gudgeons 4, 5 are cut by cutting tools 38, 42. In this manner, the rudder mounting unit can be accurately and readily manufactured and finished in a short time.

    • PURPOSE:To apply compressive force to an ingot and obtain the good ingot free from the generation of cracking, etc. in continuous casting of steel by dividing the ingot forcing roll groups provided to a leveling track and giving the commands for the moment of rotation successively from the upper stream side. CONSTITUTION:In a continuous casting installation, ingot forcing roll groups 3 provided to the leveling track of an ingot 5 is divided to plural blocks. First, the moment of rotation is commanded via an electric motor controller 6 from a controller 7 to the block A on the upper stream side, thence the moment of rotation is applied to the block B on the downstream side. When compressive force is applied to the ingot to the roll group 3 of the block B in this way, it turns out that the compressive force is applied upon the ingot 5 overall despite the action of tensile force upon the ingot 5 between the blocks A and b. Hence, the ingot 5 is cast without generating tensile stress therein and the possibility of the generation of cracking, etc. is completely eliminated.

    • PURPOSE:To rapidly stop the effluent of the slag at the end stage of the tapping work for the molten steel, by supporting the sprue stopping plug of the converter using the support bracket, and by inserting the plug into the molten steel in the converter, and by bringing down the plug using the hydraulic cylinder. CONSTITUTION:In case of tapping the molten steel out of the tapping hole 39 of the converter 11, the effluent of the slag at the end stage of effluent of molten steel is to be rapidly stopped; for this purpose, the plug is used for stopping the tapping hole 39 without setting up the converter. Hereupon, the turning arm 8 is horizontally freely rotatably attached to the upper and lower parts 4 installed in the staionary frame 1 so as to be freely elevating. The saddle 13 is attached to the turning arm 8 so as to be freely movable in the direction of length of the turning arm 8, and also, the support arm 16 is vertically freely rotatably attached to the saddle 13; in which, the tip of the support arm 16 is provided with the support bracket 42 for vertically freely movably supporting the support rod 41 for supporting the stopping plug for the tapping hole 39 of the converter 11. When the slag begins to flow out of the tapping hole 39, the support arm 16 is instantaneously turned downward by the hydraulic cylinder 18, and the plug rapidly closes the tapping hole 39.
