    • PURPOSE:To manufacture a thoroughly bonded uniform composite metallic pipe in pouring a molten metal of a different material into the pipe material in a horizontal centrifugal casting mold by determining the inside surface temp. of the pipe material and the temp. of the molten metal to be poured by the equation for starting melting of the pipe material and casting centrifugally the molten metal by the combination of both temps. within the specified range. CONSTITUTION:A pipe material 11 is inserted into a horizontal centrifugal casting mold 1 by matching the centerlines and both ends are sealed by side gates 3, 4. The inside surface of the material 11 is heated to a prescribed temp. by a heater and a molten metal 12 of a different material is poured at a prescribed temp. from a tundish 7 into the mold, by which the molten metal is centrifugally cast. The heating temp. T'C for the inside surface of the pipe material 11 and the temp. T'M of the molten metal to be poured are determined from the relation (equation I ) for starting melting of the pipe material. The two materials weld to each other in the molten state of the boundary in the combination of T'C and T'M and are bonded by diffusion in the combination of T'C-T'C -200 deg.C and T'M and the combination of T'C and T'M-T'M-60 deg.C. The two materials are thoroughly metallurgically bound and the composite metallic pipe having uniform and high quality is economically produced.

    • PURPOSE:To obtain a composite metallic material having a defectless boundary by supplying the 2nd molten steel which is subjected to temp. control before the 1st molten steel under centrifugal casting ends solidification to cast centrifugally a composite pipe, cutting the pipe in the axial line direction after cooling and straightening the cut pipe while hot to a flat plate. CONSTITUTION:A cylindrical horizontal casting mold 1 is rotated at a high speed and the 1st molten steel 11 consisting of a prescribed material is supplied into the mold and is centrifugally cast. The 2nd molten steel 12 of a different kind is supplied at 30-120 deg.C degree of superheating and at the temp. higher by >=30 deg.C than the m.p. of the steel 1 into the mold and is centrifugally cast before the steel 11 ends solidification. The resultant composite steel pipe 13 is cooled in the mold 1. The pipe is taken out when the temp. decreases to Ar3 or 800- 1,100 deg.C and is cut along the straight direction in the axial line direction. The cut pipe is heated to about 1,100-1,300 deg.C and is straightened to a flat plate shape with a hot straightener. The flat plate-shaped composite slab is hot rolled and the plate- or coil-shaped composite steel plate is obtd.

    • PURPOSE:To provide a titled plate brick having considerably increased service times and high sliding performance by fitting and sticking a charging hole part which is formed beforehand of a refractory material having high erosion resistance to a plate brick body which is formed of a refractory material having high sliding and smoothing properties. CONSTITUTION:A stationary plate 3' which is the above-described plate brick is constituted of a stationary plate body 3'a and a charging hole part 3'b fitted and stuck to said body. The body 3'a is made by kneading, molding and calcining of the components consisting, by weight, of 40% coarse grains and 20% middle grains of sintered alumina, 20% fine grains of synthetic mullite, 20% powder of flake graphite, and 3% a phenolic resin. The part 3'b is made by kneading, molding, and calcining of the components consisting, by weight, for example, of 40% coarse grains and 20% middle grains and 35% fine powder of sintered alumina, and 5% clay. After the part 3'b is fitted and stuck to the body 3'a by using an inorg. adhesive agent (e.g.; sodium silicate), the sliding surface of the body 3'a is polished, whereby the plate brick for the intended sliding opener is obtained.

    • PURPOSE: To prevent macrosegregation by inserting a prescribed amount of a cooling material in a prescribed shape into a mold rapidly a necessary time after molten steel having prescribed temperature is poured into the mold.
      CONSTITUTION: Molten steel is so poured that the molten steel in a mold is 5°C higher than the starting temperature of solidification, and inclusions of the molten steel float and separate. After the separation is done enough, a cooling material which has nearly the same properties with the molten steel and is so sectioned that upper sectional area/lower sectional area ≤1 and 20W70% as long as the height of a steel ingot is inserted deeply and rapidly into the molten metal. In this case, the amount of the cooling material is so determined that total mean sectional area of cooling material/sectional area of steel ingot ≥5.6%. Consequently, the molten steel in the mold has more than one solidification starting point and the solidifiction is decentralized to prevent segregation.

    • PURPOSE:To bind metallurgically the interface between the inside and outside layers consisting of different materials and to obtain a composite metallic pipe having high quality by limiting the supply period of the 2nd molten metal to be supplied to the surface of the 1st molten metal under centrifugal casting and the temp. difference between the degree of overheating of the 2nd molten metal and the m.p. of the 1st molten metal. CONSTITUTION:The 1st molten steel 11 supplied into a horizontal casting mold 1 is centrifugally cast as a horizontal casting mold 1 rotates. The 2nd molten steel 12 which is supplied from the 2nd ladle 10 into the 2nd tundish 8 and is different in material quality from the 1st molten steel 11 is supplied onto the surface of the 1st molten steel 11 under centrifugal casting via an outflow spout 8a during the time since the surface of the molten steel 11 starts solidifying until the solidification ends. the composite steel pipe is thus centrifugally cast. The supply temp. of the 2nd molten steel 12 onto the surface of the 1st molten steel 11 in this stage is made higher than the m.p. of the 1st steel 11 within a 30-120 deg.C range of the degree of overheating.
