    • PURPOSE:To discriminate easily a degree of abnormality from a distribution of a histogram at a working site by amplifying a vibration signal from a vibration sensor, and thereafter, rectifying it, calculating the number of times of the maximum value of a vibration, and a period between the maximum values, and preparing the histogram. CONSTITUTION:A vibration in case when a low speed rotary machine is rotating is measured by a vibration sensor 1, and a waveform of its vibration is supplied to an amplifying circuit 2. This signal is supplied to a rectifying circuit 3 directly or through a filter in case when frequency of an abnormal vibration is already known, and a rectified waveform is obtained. This rectified waveform is supplied to a peak detector, a peak value of a vibration signal whose level is varied is held for a constant interval of time, the periodicity of a variation is made remarkable, and thereafter, said waveform is sent to a microcomputer 5. This waveform is A/D-converted, and a histogram is prepared by calculating the number of times of the maximum value and the period between the maximum values. A degree of abnormality can be discriminated easily from a distribution of this histogram at a working site.

    • PURPOSE:To stabilize a leveling shape of steel plate and of a roller leveler to minimize a warping by controlling and setting a devise for rolling reduction on a calculated rolling reduction based on steel plate specifications on a host computer and by correcting the rolling reduction by the detected warping value of a sent steel plate. CONSTITUTION:A shape controlling device 4 is operated on calculated rolling reduction according to the memorized specification of the steel plate, e.g. kinds of steel, plate thickness, plate with, tensile strength, etc., to set the positions of the devices 6, 7 for rolling reduction of the roller leveler 1. Then, the warping value at specific position of the steel plate 2 sent out from the roller leveler 1 is detected by a detecting device 3, and with its detected value, the rolling reduction including a warping by the own weight of steel plate is corrected by the shape controlling device 4. The corrected shape of the steel plate 2 is stabilized and the steel plate with slight warping is produced. Further, if the warping of the steel plate before entering the leveler 1 is previously detected by the detector 8 to add to the correction by the controlling device 4, the correction of steel plate is much more stabilized.

    • PURPOSE:To discriminate the propriety of a bearing in a noncontact manner from the level variation cycle histogram of self-correlation function of an acoustic signal, by detecting a sound emitting from a bearing with a directive microphone to remove noises from a filter. CONSTITUTION:A sound alone emitting from an object bearing 1 is detected as much as possible and amplified 3 with an intense directive microphone 2 and after the removal of noises with a BPF4 sandwiching the natural frequency (normally, 1-5 kHz) of a bearing, a rectification 5 is done to obtain the waveform corresponding to the variation cycle of the abnormal vibration of the bearing. Peak is picked up 6 from the waveform and converted into digital from analog to prepare a histogram of the variation cycle or analyze the self- correlation by computation 8. Thus, the propriety of the bearing is judged from the presence of the specified cycle in the histogram or the degree of correlation. The affected part also can be identified from the specific frequency (1/period) by specifying the type and the number of revolutions of the bearing.

    • PURPOSE:To detect real cambers of a straightened steel plate by measuring a distance to a steel plate delivered from a roller leveler by a range finder and calculating a relation-ship between a distance taking into account of the dead weight shown in the specifications of the steel plate and a real camber quantity by a calibration unit. CONSTITUTION:A distance (l) to a delivered steel plate W is measured by a range finder 2 set at a prescribed distance X from the last roller 10 of a roller leveler 1. The material specifications such as the thickness, strength or base material quality, yield point, and heat treatment conditions and a dis tance L taking account of effect of the dead weight in a cantilever state of the steel plate W and data related to cambers of + or -h are stored in a calibration unit 3. therefore, a real camber quantity (h) of the plate W is detected based on the distance (l). The calibration unit 3 operates so that a shape controller 4 corrects an upper roller position of the roller leveler 1 to bring the distance (l) to be a distance (l0) by which a real camber is zero, to make the real cam ber quantity zero, and to improve and stabilize a shape quality of the plate W.

    • PURPOSE:To obtain an inexpensive monitoring device enabling early detection of the quality of a bearing, by packing a condensor microphone, a signal processing circuit, a judging circuit and a battery in a cylindrical case. CONSTITUTION:A sound emitted from a bearing is detected by a condenser microphone 5 having excellent characteristics in a region of 1 kHz and above and being inexpensive. The detected sound is amplified 11, removed of noise by a filter 12 and then rectified 13, and thereby a peak value is detected 14. Then, whether a sound level is above a reference value of not is determined 20, and when it exceeds the reference value, an alarm lamp 7 is lighted. Since the period of a change in abnormal vibrations of the bearing is determined primarily from the type and the number of rotations of the bearing, the quality of the bearing is determined from the presence of a specified period in a histogram of the period of the change in the sound level or from the degree of autocorrelation thereof. In addition, a faulty portion can be found from a specific frequency (1/period) by specifying the type and the number of rotations of the bearing.
