    • PURPOSE: To decrease the deflection of a work roll and to contrive high draft rolling by correcting a horizontal force which is applied to the work roll by a driving reaction force calculated from roll driving output and imparting an equal horizontal pushing force with a roll supporting device. CONSTITUTION: A 6-high rolling mill is composed of a rolled stock 1, work rolls 2, intermediate rolls 3, back-up rolls 4 and the roll supporting devices 5 consisting of back-up rolls 5a which are divided in the axial direction and cylinder devices 5b. To improve the estimated accuracy of the one-side horizontal pushing forces which are imparted to the work rolls 2 with the roll supporting devices 5, the correction of the horizontal pushing forces is executed through actual driving torques obtd. by adding the total driving torques at the time of rolling at a constant speed to the torques at the time of acceleration and deceleration. The horizontal pushing forces ST of the upper and lower work rolls which are determined by a prescribed equation are calculated by measuring load output at time of every acceleration and deceleration and constant speed, or at intervals of a sufficiently short time and individually imparted to the upper and lower work rolls. Where, P is a rolling load, TB is back tension, TF is front tension, TQ is driving torque, δ is the amount of offset, R is a radius of the intermediate roll, (r) is a radius of the work roll.

    • PURPOSE:To accurately detect the variation in thickness on the outlet side of stand generated during acceleration or deceleration and by slip or the like by estimating the value of thickness on the outlet side of stand based on the mass flow constant law from the value of thickness detected on the inlet side of a stand. CONSTITUTION:The measured values of thickness on the inlet side which are measured with a thickness gage 22 are sampled at a prescribed pitch. The microtracking of these values is executed depending on the advance of a rolled material to a position just under the stand 4. The measured values HIN of thickness on the inlet side executing microtracking, the measured values VIN of sheet speed on the inlet side of stand that are measured with a sheet speed meter 23 and the measured values VOUT of sheet speed on the outlet side that are measured with a sheet speed meter 24 are simultaneously sampled and the estimated value HOUT of thickness that is the latest thickness on the outlet side of the stand 4 is determined from these values by the next formula. HOUT = HINX VIN/VOUT. By estimating the value of thickness on the outlet side of stand based on the mass flow constant law, thickness on the outlet side just under the stand that is difficult to measure is estimated and the variation of thickness on the outlet side of stand is accurately detected.
