    • PURPOSE:To reduce negative friction forces to act on a pile while exhibiting a negtive friction force-reducing effect by a method in which only the surface of a pile in contact with soft ground is covered with a negative friction force- reducing cover and also a specific grout is injected into the apertures between the cover and the ground layer. CONSTITUTION:When penetrating a steel tubular pile 1 into a pit 2 previously drilled, the surface of the pile 1 in the face of soft ground 7 is referred to as a negative friction force-reducing cover portion 3, and the surface of the pile 1 in the face of an intermediate layer 8 and a fixed support layer 9 is referred to as a non-cover portion 4. The layer 9 is solidified by cement milk 10 for foot protection, and the void portion around the pile 1 in the face of the layer 8 is fixed with a solidifying liquid 11 which exhibits almost the same uniaxial compressive strength as that of the layer 8 when hardened. Also, a solidifying liquid 13 which exhibits a strength smaller than that of the layer 7 when hardened is injected into the surrounding area of the part 3 for fixation. Thereby, even when the layer 7 undergoes ground subsidence by consolidation, a deviation easily occurs in relation to the pile 1.

    • PURPOSE:To drive a steel pile into hard ground without causing the crushing or abrasion of the tip portion of the pile by attaching a shoe made of a steel material having a high strength and a high wear resistance to the tip of the pile body. CONSTITUTION:A shoe 5 made of a steel material having a high strength and a high wear resistance, e.g., high-carbon and high-manganese steel or blister steel, is welded to the tip of a pile body 1, for example. The preferred high-C and high-Mn steels are preferably ones containing 0.50-1.20wt% C and 10-20wt% Mn and having a tensile strength of 75kg/mm. or more, which is subjected to work hardening. When a cemented steel is used, the preferred steels are ones containing 0.5% or more carbon and having a Vickers hardness of 400 or more.
