摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for correcting the end of a steel pipe capable of sufficiently correcting the curvature change of a short period in a tube circumferential direction corresponding to a divided pitch of dies, and an apparatus with a simple structure for performing that method. SOLUTION: The method for correcting the end of the steel pipe comprises the steps of: disposing two support rolls 5 on the outer surface of the end of the pipe 1; disposing one forcing roll 6 at the intermediate position of the two support rolls on the inner surface of the end of the pipe; rotating first the roll 6 by rotating the roll 6 in a no load state; measuring the curvature distribution of the end of the pipe in the pipe circumferential direction; calculating the maximum curvature and the curvature change pitch from the measured curvature distribution; then providing the interval of the support rolls 5 so as to become narrower than the calculated curvature change pitch; setting the forcing amount of the roll 6 so that the curvatures of the end of the pipe is aligned to the maximum curvature; and correcting the end of the pipe by rotating the pipe. At this time, the dimension of internal diameter can be changed in proportion to the push-in amount of the bar like body tool 2. After correction, the taper generating on the metal tube becomes smaller than the tolerance of allowable internal diameter against the length of the metal tube, so the practical trouble is not caused.
