    • PURPOSE: To obtain the iron powder for a concrete reinforcing aggregate, a chemical body warmer, or the like, by refining the metallic iron content of a pig iron-contg. slag until the iron content gives ≥90%, and subjecting the refined metallic iron content to screening, particle size regulation, or the like, to gain the stabilization of properties.
      CONSTITUTION: The pig iron-contg. slag is subjected to crush and magnetic separation, required times, repeatedly, to be recovered by separation, and is refined until the metallic iron content gives ≥90% in total. The refined matter is subjected either to screening and grain size regulation or to pulverization and air classification. In this way, pulverized iron of each particle size having uniform and stable quality can be obtained.

    • PURPOSE: To make it possible to heat and keep warm chemical body warmer, food such as lunch, etc., contained in a airtight container by bringing hydrogen peroxide water in contact with a heat-generating compsn. consisting mainly of metal powder and using generated heat of oxidation as heat source.
      CONSTITUTION: A hygroscopic porous substance 3 (e.g. sponge) is impregnated with hydrogen peroxide water and is placed at the bottom 2 of an airtight container 1. A pack consisting of nonwoven fabric, paper, etc., and containing a heat-generating compsn, consisting mainly of metal powder (e.g. iron powder) is laid on the porous substance 3 and food such as lunch is placed on it. Weight of the lunch, etc., presses down the pack 4 and causes hydrogen peroxide water to be forced out and brought into contact with (or impregnated with) the heat- generating compsn. leading to oxidation of the compsn. Generated heat of oxida tion is used as heat source to heat food such as lunch or keep it warm.
