    • PURPOSE:To prevent idle ignition by disabling function of ignition drive means from the time point when intermediate pulse in three pulses to be produced upon rotation of crank shaft by predetermined angle against the referential position is produced until the time point when first pulse will disappear CONSTITUTION:Upon rotation of crank shaft 1, approximately sinusoidal pulsating signals A, B are produced sequetially from electromagnetic pickups 4, 5 while upon rotation of cam shaft 25, approximately sinusoidal pulsating signal C is produced from an electromagnetic pickup 28. Said signal C is produced during the interval after extinction of said signal A corresponding with the compression dead center until production of said signal B corresponding with the exhaust top dead center. Said signal C is fed to a diode 29, a resistor 30 and a capacitor 31 to produce positive recharging pulse D which will cause turning on of transistor Tr32 to recharge a capacitor 33 and upon exceeding of the recharged voltage over predetermined level, Tr42 is turned on thus to disable turning on of Tr11, Tr17.

    • PURPOSE: To simplify the construction of a crank angle detector by detecting the shape at a specified angle pitch provided on a rotor and one shape different therefrom to perform a logical processing of resultant outputs.
      CONSTITUTION: Projections 10aW10h at an equal angle pitch of a magnetic rotor 10 rotating integral with the rotation of a crank and one projection 10i different in the phase relationship therefrom are detected with an electromagnetic pickups 3 and 4 to trigger monostable multivibrators 11 and 12. AND gates 13 and 14 to which outputs of the monostable multivibrators 11 and 12 are applied are respectively controlled by the output of the monostable multivibrator 11 and the output of the monostable multivibrator 12 via an inverter 15 and produce an output corresponding to the upper dead point and an output corresponding to each crank angle respectively. The arrangement of using only one rotor in stead of two for detecting the upper dead point and the crank angle simplifies the construction of the detector for the crank angle including the dead point.
