If a disconnection is noticed, the output 27 reaches L level activating a transistor 29. A resistance 31 then brings up the reverse input level of a comparator 14. Consequently, even when one of the plugs is broken, the main current supply is cut off after the remaining three plugs reach a temperature of about 900 deg.C. With resistances 31 and 15 connected parallel, however, current change-over from subsidiary to main is controlled relative to temperature within the range of about 650 deg.C and about 900 deg.C. If it is judged that the difference between both values is below a predetermined value, an alarm means I is actuated to inform the drivers concerning the abnormal condition of the EGR.

    • PURPOSE:To prevent actuating sound upon deenergization of a relay from giving a sense of uneasy to a passenger, by providing such an arrangement that a wiper motor carries out a unit operation to turn off a the relay until the wiper returns to its rest position, to make the cycle period of the wiper equal to that of the relay. CONSTITUTION:When an ignition switch 2 and an intermittent switch 6 are turned on, a voltage comparator 19 issue a low level signal to turn on a relay 7. Thereby, a wiper motor 4 is initiated to rotate, and a switch 5 changes over from 5a into 5b. When a capacitor 18 is charged and therefore, an inverted input of a comparator 19 becomes lower than a predetermined voltage, the comparator 19 issues an H-level signal. However, since the switch 5 is positioned at its contact 5b, the relay 7 persists in turning on. When the wiper motor reaches the rest position thereof, the switch 5 is changed over to 5a to turn off the relay 7 to stop the motor 4. Therefore, the relay 7 opens and closes its contacts in synchronizm with the rotational speed of the motor 4 so that there are no problems of actuating sound.

Accordingly, even if an up-switch 10 is closed by mistake in this state, the AND gate 100b is unable to output a high- level signal because of the low-level signal issued from the inverter 100a, and a driving relay 40 keeps a double-throw contact 42c of a double-throw switch 42 in contact with a fixed contact 42b, thereby preventing the window from being closed. With this contrivance, both reliability and durability can be enhanced.
