摘要： PURPOSE: To provide an engine starting device which can improve the quietness of a car. CONSTITUTION: A starter 5 which has a pinion gear 6 meshed with a ring gear 3 and drives an engine 1 is arranged inside a clutch housing 7 which houses a torque converter 4 engaged with the ring gear 3. Operation noises of the starter 5 are insulated by the clutch housing 7, so that the quietness of a car is remarkably improved. The starter 5 also has an armature inside thereof, while the clutch housing 7 is made of material of good heat conductivity. The starter 5 is closedly fixed to an inner wall of the clutch housing 7, so that heat generated by the armature of the starter 5 is effectively transmitted to the clutch housing 7 made of material of good heat conductivity. Heat resistance of the starter is thus remarkably improved.

In addition, the fixed contact 30 need not have a terminal bolt, a nut fixing an external feeder terminal, a cap covering the fixed contact, an external feeder terminal and a nut, and the like, and hence the number of part items can be also reduced.

Thus, the stator coils 2b can effectively be cooled directly.

摘要： PURPOSE: To enhance the heat radiation property of an attracting coil so as to restrain its attracting force from decreasing by constructing a magnetic switch from the coil generating a magnetomotive force when energized, a sleeve having the property of transferring heat, and a plunger freely slidably provided inside the sleeve, the magnet switch moving a pinion gear in the direction of a ring gear. CONSTITUTION: This starter has a housing 400 enclosing a pinion 200 meshing with an engine side ring gear 100 and also enclosing a planetary gear mechanism 300, and a magnet switch 600 is placed near the side of a motor 500 opposite to a pinion gear 210. The magnet switch 600 is provided with an attracting coil 650 which when energized drives a plunger 610 upwards to make moving contacts 611, 621 abut to a terminal bolt 620 and a fixed contact 630. The attracting coil 650 is wound on a sleeve 651 made of a nonmagnetic substance having the property of transferring heat, and since the plunger 610 is made to abut to the sleeve 651, effective radiation of heat generated when the attracting coil 650 is energized is made possible.
