摘要： PURPOSE:To obtain the dual external storage device having high reliability by verifying a fact that a saved state of data is normal at every prescribed period with respect to a second storage medium, and executing a report to the outside immediately when abnormality is detected. CONSTITUTION:A data processing part 11 executes write and read-out processings to a first storage medium 2 and executes only a write processing to a second storage medium. A timer part 12 supplies an actuating signal to a competition avoiding part 13 in a prescribed period and at a timing which is not in the course of write operation to a medium 3, a read-out instructing part 14 reads out data of the medium 3 and stores it in a status storage part 16, and a result of read-out is decided by an error deciding part 17. As a result, when a read-out error is contained, it is informed to an error informing part 18, and the informing part 18 informs a fact that read-out abnormality is generated in the medium 3 to an external device. In such a way, a dual external storage device having high reliability can be obtained.
