SOLUTION: An upper horizontal piece part 7 of one upward projecting piece part 6 is opposed to a lower applying horizontal piece part 8 of the other upward projecting piece part 6. A lower horizontal patch piece part 8 of one upward projecting piece part 6 is opposed to an upper horizontal piece part 7 of the other upward projecting piece part 6. The upper horizontal piece parts 7 are positioned above the lower horizontal patch piece parts 8. An elastic vibration control material 10 is installed in an upper surface part of the lower horizontal patch piece parts 8. A distance between the tips of both upper horizontal piece parts 7 is set not less than a width of the lower flange part 2. A distance between the tips of both lower horizontal patch piece parts 8 is set not more than the width of the lower flange part 2. A distance between the opposed upper horizontal piece parts 7 and lower horizontal patch piece parts 8 in a plan view is set narrower than the width of the lower flange part 2. The upper horizontal piece parts 7 are respectively placed on an upper surface part of the lower flange part 2, and the vibration control material 10 installed in the upper surface part of the lower horizontal patch piece parts 8 is pressed to an under surface part of the lower flange part 2. A backing material 3 such as a backing material 3a for a partition wall and a backing material 3b for the ceiling is installed in an installing part 5 of an installing metal fitting 4.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance finished appearance while improving the workability for attaching a decorative board to the outer peripheral surface of a column member regardless of the size of the column member. SOLUTION: This is a decorative construction of a column for giving a decorative finish by covering the exterior peripheral portion of the column member 1. Long-sized upper and lower band members 2a and 2b are folded at the upper and lower end portions of the column member 1 in such a manner that the band members become almost parallel to each outer surface of each column member 1. From the upper end edge of each folded fixing piece 3 of the upper band member 2a to the outwardly, an upper fixing piece 4 is extended almost horizontally. From the lower end edge of each folded fixing piece 3 of the lower band member 2b to the outwardly, the lower fixing piece 5 is extended almost horizontally. Between the upper and lower folded fixing piece 3 at each outer surface of the column member 1, the decorative board 6 is brought into contact with the fixing pieces and fixed with fixing pieces 7 such as machine screws. The upper and lower fixing pieces 4 and 5 are fixed to a ceiling backing 8 and a floor backing 9 with fixing pieces 7 such as machine screws.
