    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a noble metal-containing supported catalyst to be used for producing α,β-unsaturated carboxylic acid from olefin or α,β-unsaturated aldehyde with high productivity, a method for producing the noble metal-containing supported catalyst, and a method for producing α,β-unsaturated carboxylic acid with high productivity. SOLUTION: The method for producing the noble metal-containing supported catalyst, which is used for producing α,β-unsaturated carboxylic acid from olefin or α,β-unsaturated aldehyde, comprises: a step (1) of obtaining an aqueous solution in which a noble metal salt and a base generating agent are dissolved; a step (2) of impregnating a carrier with the aqueous solution obtained at the step (1); a step (3) of heating/drying the impregnated carrier obtained at the step (2); a step (4) of firing the dried carrier obtained at the step (3) to obtain the noble metal oxide-deposited carrier being a catalyst precursor; and a step (5) of reducing a noble metal oxide in the catalyst precursor obtained at the step (4).
