摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an improved halohydrin epoxidase in which stereoselectivity, product inhibition resistance, and the like are improved, and to provide a method, by using the same, for efficiently producing optically active epihalohydrin or 4-halo-3-hydroxybutyronitrile by using them.SOLUTION: In the amino acid sequence of a wild type halohydrin epoxidase shown by a specific sequence, an improved halohydrin epoxidase consisting of the amino acid sequence into which the amino acid mutations substituting Ala at the second position with Lys, and also Ala at the 128th position with Cys, Gln, Ile, Met or Val are introduced is used.

摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a halohydrin epoxidase crystal, improved halohydrin epoxidase and a method for producing the same.SOLUTION: There is disclosed a following protein depicted in (a) or (b), and having halohydrin epoxidase activity: (a) a protein comprising an amino acid sequence in which at least either one of the 71st Phe and the 125th Gln in an amino acid sequence comprising a specific animo acid sequence is substituted by another amino acid; and (b) a protein comprising an amino acid sequence in which at least either one of the 71st Phe and the 125th Gln in an amino acid sequence comprising a specific amino acid sequence is substituted by another amino acid and in which one or several amino acids are deleted, substituted or added in the amino acid sequence lacking the 71st amino acid and the 125th amino acid.
