    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of producing a prepreg which includes a step of applying a matrix resin composition to a one-direction-reinforced fiber sheet and causes no deficiency, e.g. fuzzing of carbon fiber in an appearance of a prepreg, or non-impregnation of the resin.SOLUTION: In a step of applying a matrix resin composition (R) to a reinforced fiber sheet (I), a first support guide, a slit die (D) and a second support guide are arranged, in this order, in parallel with one another. One surface of the reinforced fiber sheet (I) is supported with the second support guide, and the slit die (D) is pressed onto the other surface to a depth of d. Taking the distance between the first support guide and the slit die (D) as L1 and the distance between the second support guide and the slit die (D) as L2, the condition 0≤d/L1+d/L2≤0.1 is satisfied.

The air vent mechanism 30 includes two or more columnar pressing means 31, 31 arranged so as to press a central part of the prepreg 11 in the width direction against the mold M before pressing both end parts of the prepreg 11.

The air release mechanism includes a means for withdrawing the air between the adjacent prepreg layers while forcing a pressing device to press the layered prepregs. The means for making notches in the prepreg includes a means for discontinuously making notches parallel to the direction of the fiber in the prepreg.
