SOLUTION: A ball screw has a screw shaft, a nut and a ball. The screw shaft has a first spiral groove to an outer circumference face. The nut has the flange part on which a load is applied and the body part jointed integrally to one face of the flange part, is fitted on the screw shaft and has a second spiral groove in an inner circumference face. The ball rolls in the passage constituted of the first groove and the second groove. The thickness of a body part becomes the maximum near the second groove where the ball load received by the ball owing to the load becomes the minimum.

It is also preferable that an end part of the pin hole 100 at a back plate 32 side has a cross-sectional shape of an ellipse. When a metal mold which is long in one direction is attached to a metal mold attaching plate 31, the elliptical end part of the pin hole 100 is located so that its major axis direction is perpendicular to a longitudinal direction of the metal mold. At the back plate 32, a concave part which is concave toward the metal mold attaching plate 31 side is effectively formed near a part where the pin hole 100 is formed or an opening is effectively formed in the back plate 32.
