    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an induction heating cooker capable of inhibiting the contents of a heated object from reaching an operation part by boiling-over.SOLUTION: An induction heating cooker has: a top plate 2; a heating coil 8 heating a pot 12; a driving circuit 10; an operation part 4 provided on the same plane as the top plate 2 and by which an operation for heating power control of the heating coil 8 is input; a plurality of electrodes 7 arranged in a circumferential direction on an outer periphery side of the heating coil 8; electrostatic capacitance detection means 11 measuring an electrostatic capacitance of the electrode 7; and a control circuit 13 detecting occurrence of boiling-over based on variation in the electrostatic capacitance of the electrode 7, and controlling the driving circuit 10 to stop the driving circuit 10 or to reduce a high-frequency current to be made to flow in the heating coil 8. The sensitivity for detecting the occurrence of boiling-over by the electrode 7 arranged between the heating coil 8 and the operation part 4 among the plurality of electrodes 7 is higher compared with the other electrodes 7.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the temperature detecting accuracy of an induction heating cooker, and as a result, to improve controllability thereof by using an infrared ray sensor and a contact type temperature sensor together. SOLUTION: An infrared ray sensor and a contact type temperature sensor are used together, and a higher one of the detected temperature is determined as the pan temperature, and used to control heating. In order to observe points of the bottom of a pan 3, in which the temperature distribution is same, the infrared ray sensor and the contact type sensor are arranged on the nearly concentric circle. With this structure, in the case wherein a position of a top plate 2 opposite to the infrared ray sensor 5 is stained, the infrared rays radiated from the pan 3 is reduced in the stained part, and the quantity of the infrared ray to be received by the infrared ray sensor 5 is reduced, and the temperature lower than the real pan temperature is detected. Depends on the kind of the pan, for an example, in the case of a pan made of a material having a low infrared rays emissivity, the problem wherein it is difficult to accurately control the temperature because the quantity of the infrared rays to be received by the infrared ray sensor 5 is reduced and the temperature lower than the real temperature is detected can be solved.
