    • PURPOSE:To double the number of data stations which can be installed, by setting the transmittance of half mirror of an optical switch to an optimum value in accordance with individual branch positions. CONSTITUTION:In an optical data way system where data is transmitted and received between data stations connected to a branch optical fiber 3 through plural optical switches provided between loop-shaped main optical fibers 1 and 2, each of optical switches SW consists of rod lenses 15-17 and a half mirror 19a whose transmittance is (m-1)/m and reflection factor is 1/m. The light from the main optical fiber 1 goes to a parallel light by the lens 15, and this light is made incident on the branch optical fiber 3 through the lens 17 by a total reflecting mirror when the optical SW is driven. When the optical SW is not driven, (m- 1)/m of the incident light is transmitted through the half mirror 19a and is made incident on the main optical fiber 2 through the lens 16, and the rest 1/m is reflected and is made incident on the optical fiber 3 and is monitored by an optical receiver. The evaporation area of reflection factor ''1'' of the mirror is changed to set the transmittance to an optimum value.

    • PURPOSE:To easily set a theshold voltage and to attain the stable working of an optical receiving device by securing an AND after comparing the level of the signal current of an avalanche photodiode with the level of the control gain voltage of a variable gain amplifier circuit, the output voltage of a high voltage generating circuit, or the output voltage of a peak value detecting circuit. CONSTITUTION:A resistance 13 is provided to detect the current flowing to an avalanche photodiode 1 together with a 2nd error amplifying circuit 14, a 3rd error amplifying circuit 15, and an AND gate 16 which uses the outputs of both circuits 14 an 15 as the inputs. The the level of the current of the photo diode 1 is monitored together with the gain control voltage of a variable gain amplifying circuit 4, level of the output voltage of a high voltage generating circuit 2, or the level of the output of a peak value detecting circuit 6 respective ly. Thus it is possible of obtain an alarm circuit which can easily detect the presence or absence of an optical input signal with the stable working.

    • PURPOSE:To obtain an optical receiving equipment having good sensitivity and wide dynamic range by constituting a negative feedback loop by means of a constant-current circuit in order that the signal current of a photoelectric converting element is not increased by the input of excessive light beam. CONSTITUTION:When the input of the excessive light beam is supplied to an avalanche photodiode 1, the output amplitude from a preamplifier circuit 3 is increased to excess to saturate. Since the output from a second peak value detection circuit 11 which detects the output amplitude becomes larger, difference between a second reference voltage 12 and the output from the circuit 11 becomes larger and the output voltage value of a second error amplification circuit 13 becomes higher. Since the current capacity i1 of the constant-current circuit 14 connected to the second error amplification circuit 13 becomes larger if the output voltage value becomes higher, the current i2 flowing in the first and second load resistances 15 and 16 of the avalanche photodiode 1 is lowered and the saturation of the output from the pre-amplifier circuit 3 can be improved, thus the negative feedback loop can be obtained. When the input of light beam is small, the current capacity of the constant-current circuit 14 is equal to zero and the output from the pre-amplifier circuit 3 is controlled so that it becomes the maximum.

    • PURPOSE:To relieve the load of operation of an AGC feedback system by constituting the titled amplifier with a resistor dividing a gain setting reference voltage depending on fluctuation of a power voltage and a level shift circuit so as to suppress the gain fluctuation of an automatic gain control amplifier due to fluctuation of the power voltage. CONSTITUTION:Voltage dividing resistor 15, 16 are two voltage dividing resistors R3, R4 arranged between a gain setting reference voltage source and a power supply and the element value is selected so as to make it equal to a resistance ratio of the input bias resistance. The gain fluctuation of an automatic gain control amplifier is suppressed to zero due to power voltage fluctuation by matching the input DC bias fluctuation of a variable gain amplifier 6 and the gain fluctuation of the automatic gain control amplifier due to power voltage fluctuation and the condition is expressed in equation. In satisfying the condition, the gain fluctuation due to the power voltage fluctuation of the automatic gain control amplifier is suppressed by applying the voltage of a connecting point between the two voltage dividing resistors R315 and R416 to the gain setting reference voltage supply terminal.

    • PURPOSE: To decrease the ON resistance of a transistor (TR) and to obtain a voltage peak detector which has a short rising time by connecting plural TRs for switching in parallel or increasing emitter diffusion area.
      CONSTITUTION: Plural switching TRs 2 are connected to an input signal terminal 11 in parallel and a charging capacitor 3 and a discharging resistance 4 are connected to their emitters in parallel. When a pulse signal is applied to the terminal 1, the TRs 2 turn on to charge the capacitor 3, and the high level potential of the pulse is held, so that a voltage peak is detected. The TRs 2 are connected in parallel, so the ON resistance of the TRs 2 decreases and the rising time is shortened.

    • PURPOSE:To form stable light output through automatic control by supplying a partial pressure value by a thermistor and resistance to input of an error amplification circuit and by controlling a current value of a current source by the output voltage. CONSTITUTION:As for a relationship between a light output level and a current of a laser diode 3, if a driving current exceeds some threshold value, laser oscillation develops and light is output. Here, a bias current IB is set to a value which is slightly lower than the threshold value, and a desired light output can be acquired by superposing a modulation current thereto. If a current source 8 is connected to an output of a current amplification circuit 7 and a current value IO thereof is added, an output current value is controlled to IB+IO in the current amplification circuit 7. In this case, IB tends to increase in proportion to a temperature. Therefore, a load current of the current amplification 7 can be made constant at a proper value for stable operation by providing reverse temperature characteristic to the current source 8.
