The outer handle structure is also equipped with an inertial stopper member 54 which is actuated in the action of the inertial force at the collision of the vehicle, so as to regulate the movement of the linkage mechanism 8 in a door opening direction. The linkage mechanism 8 is provided with a connecting rod 34 for connecting an inertial mass member 40 and a door latch mechanism 6 together, and a connecting clip 90 for turnably connecting an end 35 of the connecting rod 34 to the inertial mass member 40. An engaging portion 56 capable of engaging with the inertial stopper member 54 is integrally formed on the connecting clip 90. Constitutionally, the inertial stopper member 54 can be engaged with the engaging portion 56 when moving onto the movement locus of the engaging portion 56 by the action of the inertial force.
