CONSTITUTION:A hydro-pneumatic suspension 1 is disposed between a wheel 2 and a car body 3 and consists of a strut 4 and an accumulator 5. An opening and closing valve 18 is interposed between a connecting part 24 and the strut 4, and operation of both a switching valve 17 and the opening and closing valve 18 is controlled by a control circuit. When a car is stopped, oil in the oil chamber 5B of the accumulator 5 flows through a communication pipe 15, the downstream passage 21B of a supply pipe 21, and a returning flow pipe 23 successively and finaly returns into an oil tank 19. A diaphragm 14 is thereby forcedly concaved toward the oil chamber 5B by the pressure of gas inside gas chamber 5A. Resultant gas pressure is reduced so that the open part of the oil chamber 5B is closed to a minimal area, whereby preventing gas from penetration.
