    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an impact tool, compact-sized, having good weight balance, and improving the convenience to use.
      SOLUTION: This impact tool includes: an impact operation mode of applying rotation and axial impact; and a non-impact operation mode of applying only rotation. A clutch handle 48 for setting fastening torque of a fastening torque adjusting clutch actuated in the non-impact operation mode is disposed at the tip side of a housing 9, and a battery pack 91 is mounted at the lower end of a grip part 92. In this case, a reinforcement connecting part 92 is provided to connect the housing in the rear of the clutch handle 48 and the lower end part of the grip part, and the connecting part is projected most forward in front of a trigger switch, and retreated backward in the rear of the clutch handle in the housing. The reinforcement connecting part will not impair the operability of the clutch handle and the operability of the trigger switch in the grip part.

The adapter is provided with a groove 500 where a slip-off preventing ball and a slide groove 501 where a rotation transmitting internal projection is slid and engaged. The slide groove has an axial length shorter than the slide groove in the SDS plus type shank. The axial mounting position regulation of the slide groove and the internal projection limits the mounting position to the chuck part to a position not to come into contact with an impact member in the impact tool.

CONSTITUTION:In order to mount a tool, it is inserted from a point end opening, and a rotary ring 2 is rotated while gripping a handle 3. Here each pawl 5, whose blade piece is positioned between a guide block 7 and the internal peripheral surface of a tapered bush 25, concentrates to the center in the diametric direction tightening the tool. Next to remove the tool, the rotary ring 2, after it is moved to a side of the handle 3, is turned. Here an engaging pawl 34 is stopped to an engaging groove 27 by elasticity in a hinge part 33. In this way, the necessity for a hand to hold a condition that the rotary ring 2 is moved to the side of the handle 3 is eliminated, accordingly the tool comes to easily attain its mounting and removal operation.
