摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the following problems with the conventional information processing apparatus: the image processing includes merely the vertical-to-horizontal conversion, resolution conversion by the reduction of an image and subtractive color conversion to meet a display means 103 of the information display apparatus 101 and in the case of the display means 103 of about several inches; the sharpness and texture of the image are inferior to those of the original image; the image is hardly visible, and in addition, the color management involves the absorption of only the color characteristics of the image input and output means of a camera, display etc., and fails to output the exact colors of the original image.
SOLUTION: The above device subjects the image to optimum image processing by selecting an image processing method by the performance of the display means 103 of the information display apparatus 101 and the content information including the material quality of the subject included in the image and an object distance in addition to the color conversion by the color management and further changing the parameters of the image processing according to the user's liking for the image and the texture of the image inputted by the user.

SOLUTION: A base expression image forming means, a parameter storage means and a splitting compression means are installed. In the base expression image forming means, each inputted image signal is converted to base expression value by using basis function which were computed by statistics processing beforehand, and an image with the base expression value as pixel value is formed. In the parameter storage means, parameter which accompanies the basis function is stored. In the splitting compression means, base expression images according to upper Z bases among the base expression images and their parameters are collected, one tag is applied to them, different tags are applied to base expression images according to bases below upper Z bases and to their parameters, and compression is performed separately. SOLUTION: An image signal is classified into a plurality of clusters, to which cluster each image signal belongs is decided, and different image compression processing or image reproduction processing is applied to each cluster to obtain an image compressor or an image reproducing device at a high compression rate with excellent reproduction accuracy. Further, transmission/ reception data are made variable depending on the environment at transmission/ reception so as to efficiently transceive a multi-dimension image.
