    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a deodorization device accomplishing energy-saving and miniaturization. SOLUTION: A plurality of flat plates 35 carried with a catalyst are provided side by side while forming a deodorization passage 36. A passage entrance 40 is provided on the flat plate 35 in an upstream side of an exhaust gas, a communication port 41 is provided on the flat plate 35 at an inter mediate part and a passage exit 43 is provided on the flat plate 35 in a downstream side respectively to communicate the deodorization passage 36 between the respective flat plates 35. An introduction part 39 of the exhaust gas and a discharge part 42 of the exhaust gas are provided respectively so as to cover the flat plate 35 in the upstream side and the flat plate 35 in the downstream side and a heating means 44 is provided on the introduction part 39 of the exhaust gas. Thereby, the exhaust gas flowing into the introduction part 39 is directly heated by the heating means 44, its temperature is rapidly raised and the flat plate 35 is also directly heated. Further, the exhaust gas with the raised temperature flows from the passage entrance 40 to the deodorization passage 36 and heats the flat plate 35.     • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that a catalyst upstream side temperature is low in responsiveness to a variation of temperature of a catalyst-heating heater and the life of a heater is short in a deodorizing means of a garbage treatment machine. SOLUTION: A garbage treatment machine is provided with; a main body having a storage part which stores garbage; a cover which has a heating means for heating the garbage and is installed with its free rotation possible to the main body; a deodorizing device 40 which deodorizes odor in steam generated by heating the garbage; and a gas-emitting means which emits the steam to the outside from a gas-emitting hole. The deodorizing means 40 has a catalyst 41, which is heated to deodorize odor, and a catalyst-heating heater 42 which heats the catalyst 41. The heat-generating body 42a of the catalyst-heating heater 42 is arranged in the upstream-side catalyst of the catalyst 41. By this, the upstream side catalyst temperature, which is influenced by an inflow of steam, is made high in responsiveness to a variation of temperature of the catalyst-heating heater, and the garbage treatment machine which has no affect on the life of a heater and has excellent deodorizing ability can be provided.
