    • PURPOSE:To maintain a well-balanced output from an FM equalizer by inserting a reference signal into a video signal so as to record it, detecting it at the time of reproduction and adjusting the frequency characteristic of an FM equalizer circuit. CONSTITUTION:At the time of recording, a gate circuit 10 gates the output of a reference signal generator circuit 9 with the aid of the output of a logic circuit 4, and an adder 13 inserts the reference signal into a video signal input 1. Upper and lower band level detection signals arise in the output spectrum of an FM modulator circuit 2. At the time of reproduction, a band-pass filter BPF 21 passes only an upper side band frequency, while a BPF 22 passes through only a lower side band frequency. A reproduction video signal is supplied to a logic circuit 4 from a demodulator circuit 20. A sample holding circuit 26 sample-holds the output of a level difference detection circuit 25 at a timing when the reference signal is inserted at the time of recording. The FM equalizer circuit 18 varies its frequency characteristic in accordance with a feedback level, and the output of a head amplifier 16 is well balanced.

    • PURPOSE:To obtain a rotary erasion head device having small power consumption by flowing an erasion current only in a period when an erasion head has a contact with a magnetic tape and also switching the erasion current according to the type of the using tape. CONSTITUTION:A magnetic tape is wound round a rotary cylinder at about 221 deg., and two heads A and B are set on a rotary head cylinder 2. Then a rotary erasion head E is set at a position which is ahead of the head A by theta in the revolving direction. The erasion current is flowed only in a period when the head E has a contact with a magnetic tape in order to reduce the electric power needed for erasion. Thus the power consumption is defined as 221 deg./360 deg.=0.16, i.e., the power consumption can be reduced down to about 60%. The current flowing timing to the head E is decided by a PG pulse which detects the rotary phase of the rotary cylinder. When the control pulse for erasion current is applied to a terminal 3, a switching transistor 4 is turned off and on when the pulse input is kept at high and low levels respectively. Then the erasion current flows only in a period of about 221 deg. when the rotary erasion head 2 has a contact with the magnetic tape.

    • PURPOSE:To make it possible to record/record video signals in plural channels by changing the number of revolution of a drum and time base compression at the time of recording so that all the video signals in plural channels are recorded on a tape, and executing the time base elongating only a desired video signal component at the time of reproducing. CONSTITUTION:In a field memory (b) 22, only, the odd-number fields of the second video signals are written. A vertical synchronizing signal 10 whose time base is 1/2-compressed are read with a clock whose rate is double that for reading. In the result, the time base compressed signal is obtained in an output 24. At the time of reproducing, a signal detected by a magnetic head 31 is amplified by a reproduction amplifier 33, and lead to the P-side of a switch 14. A vertical synchronizing signal is frequency divided by half in a memory control circuit (B) 17 to generate pulse signals. The generated signal is made a write signal for writing in a memory to determine which of a first video signal or a second video signal should be selected and reproduced.

    • PURPOSE: To prevent color noises at overlapped part in case of joint pickup of a fade-out and a fade-in video signal by recording a color burst while suppressing the recording level of the burst during the period of fade-out.
      CONSTITUTION: A low frequency conversion color signal inputted from a terminal 21 is mixed with a luminance FM signal 25 by a transistor (TR)28 via an LPF22 and TRs 26, 27 and fed to a recording amplifier circuit 29. In recording a fade-out video signal, a signal shown in figure is fed to a fade-out control signal input 23 and when the value of the bias resistor 24 is selected so as to turn on the TR29 with a DC level of the control signal exceeding a point B, the TR29 is turned on during the period B∼C and a color signal is not obtained as the output of the TR27. Thus, the overlapped write of the color burst signal in recording the fade-out video signal is prevented, and color noise generation is suppressed at fade-out and fade-in joint pickup recording.
