    • PURPOSE:To rewrite only a PCM audio area by using two rotary heads to record and reproduce both video signal and data signal areas separately from each other and also using a control circuit by turning off a fixed erasion head in a post-recording mode and actuates a flying erasion head. CONSTITUTION:The reproduction signal is extracted out of a magnetic tape 2 where the PCM audio and video signals are recorded, and only a PCM audio area undergoes the post-recording. In such a case, a control circuit 16 turns off a switch 15a which supplies the power to a drive circuit 14a of a fixed erasion head 6 as long as the priority is given to the post-recordiong mode. Then a switch 15b is turned on to apply the power to a drive circuit 14b of flying erasion heads 9a and 9b. Thus both heads 9a and 9b are actuated. At the same time, a switch 12 is changed to the reproduction side for video signal areas 8 and 8' in the post-recording mode. While the switch 12 is changed to the recording side in a PCM audio areas 7 and 7'. A recording amplifier 10 delivers the PCM audio signal in the post-recording mode.

    • PURPOSE:To attain stable control by eliminating a flyback signal superimposed on a regenerated pilot signal in the method conducting tracking control using a pilot signal. CONSTITUTION:The regenerated pilot signal B superimposed with a flyback pulse signal is inputted from a terminal 15. The regenerated pilot signal C where a low frequency energy component of the flyback pulse signal is eliminated is obtained from the output by allowing the signal to pass through a high pass filter 16. A horizontal synchronizing signal B is inputted to a monostable multivibrator 18 triggered by the leading edge. This time constant is set to obtain either a pulse output D equal to the flyback signal in time width superimposed on the regenerated pilot signal, or broader more or less than the flyback signal. An output of the said high pass filter 16 is inputted to a gate circuit 19 and only the high period of the pulse output signal D of a monostable multivibrator 18 is gated, then the regenerated pilot signal E is obtained from the output of the gate circuit 19 and the signal is outputted from a terminal 20.
