摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a β-alanine-type ampholytic surfactant giving low stimulation to the skin and having excellent safety, frothing property, etc., by using a vegetable alcohol as a raw material and forming a specific structure with an epoxyalkane. SOLUTION: The objective ampholytic surfactant has a structure having ampholyzed amino group added with a 1,2-epoxyalkane obtained by the epoxidization of an α-olefin formed by the intramolecular dehydration of a vegetable alcohol of formula (R is a 6-16C alkyl derived from a 1,2-epoxyalkane; (m) is 0-19; (n) is 1-20; m+n is 1-20). The surfactant can be produced e.g. by reacting an acrylic acid monoester with an N-(2-hydroxyalkyl)-ethanolamine obtained from a monoethanolamine and a 1,2-epoxyalkane derived from a vegetable alcohol, saponifying and neutralizing the reaction product and optionally adding ethylene oxide to the product.

摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a base material for rinse, capable of eliminating a strong skin irritation caused by widely used conventional hair rinses containing a cationic surfactant, such as a dialkyldimethylammonium chloride and a monoalkyltrimethylammonium chloride, as the base material therefor, and further capable of dealing with a fear that the above conventional rinses may pollute rivers, the sea, etc., due to its poor biodegradability. SOLUTION: This base material for rinse comprises a compound expressed by the general formula (1) (R1 is a group derived from a 16-20C higher fatty acid; R2 is a group derived from an epoxyalkane or a glycidyl ether; R3 is a 2-4C hydroxyalkyl; R4 is a 1-4C alkyl; X is an anion; and (n) is 2 to 4).

SOLUTION: The subject ampholytic surfactant in which an amino group addition-reacted with a higher alcohol glycidyl ether derived from a higher alcohol and an epichlorohydrin is made to have amphoteric properties, and the subject surfactant has a stucture represented by formula (I) (wherein R is an 8-18C alkyl group derived from a higher alcohol, m is an integer of 0-19 n is an integer of 1-20 and m+n is a number of 1-20).

摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce a surfactant that is excellent in safety as well as excellent in the properties inherently possessed by a surfactant such as foaming properties, detergency or the like by using a compound of a structure obtained by adding a 1,2-epoxyalkane to a nitrogen atom of a hydroxamide in which a tertiary amino group is made ampholytic. SOLUTION: A compound of formula I is used. In the formula, R1 represents a group derived from a fatty acid; and X represents R3COO or R3SO3 (wherein R3 is a group derived from a monohalogenated sulfonate). Usually, the compound is produced by allowing a monohalogenated carboxylate or a monohalogenated sulfonate to react with a tertiary amino compound produced by addition reaction of a 1,2-epoxyalkane to a hydroxamide prepared by reacting a fatty acid with a hydroxy amine to make a tertiary amino group ampholytic. As a fatty acid, a 8-20C fatty acid, particularly one originating from a vegetable source, is preferable. As a hydroxy amine, a compound of formula II is preferable, and more preferable is one of formula II wherein n=2 to 3; and m=2 to 3.
