    • PURPOSE:To permit both aerobic and anaerobic reaction in a single pressurized reaction tank, by providing the pressurized reaction tank with aerobic and anaerobic parts defined by a separating plate with a passage communicating with each other. CONSTITUTION:The air is supplied from an enzyme-containing gas inlet pipe 6 of a pressurized biological reaction tank to a draft tube 13 of an aerobic part 4, the liquid to be treated consisting of a microorganism-containing liquid is supplied from an inflowing pipe 9 to this tube 13 for agitation and aeration by an agitator 16 in the draft tube 13 and such liquid is thereafter overflowed from the top of the tube 13 to the exterior aerobic part 4 so as to undergo an aerobic reaction. A reaction liquid s then supplied from this aerobic part 4 to an anaerobic part 5 through a passage 2 in communication with each other and brought into contact with the liquid to be treated supplied from an inflowing pipe 10 into this anaerobic part 5 for mixing therewith so as to undergo an anaerobic reaction. After the completion of this anaerobic reaction, the liquid is discharged from a treated liquid outlet opening 11 through an outflowing pipe 17.

    • PURPOSE:To clarify sewage at a high speed, by aerating the sewage with oxygen-containing gas in a biological reaction tank and recirculating the aerated sewage to the other part in the biological reaction tank through a recirculation flow passage. CONSTITUTION:The biological reaction water discharged from a biological reaction tank 1 is recirculated to the other part in the biological reaction tank 1 through the recirculation flow passage consisting of a take-out recirculation pipeline 2, the inlet chamber 5 in a solid-liquid separation apparatus 3 and a return recirculation pipeline 6, and the reaction of aerobic bacteria with the sewage is performed in the aerobic part 10 in the biological reaction tank 1. Subsequently, the reaction liquid in the aerobic part 10 passes through a communication part 8 to flow in the anaerobic part 11 in the biological reaction tank 1 to perform the reaction of anaerobic bacteria with the sewage. The liquid flowing through the recirculation flow passage is filtered by a porous membrane 4 to return the filter residue to the upper part of the biological reaction tank 1. By this method, filtering can be continuously performed over a long period of time.

    • PURPOSE:To increase filtering and backwashing efficiency, by using as a filter medium a fiber lump, elastic, almost globular with large specific surface ratio and providing an air diffusion tube for adjusting filter medium at the lower section of a filter medium layer. CONSTITUTION:By using as a filter medium a fiber lump 5, almost globular, elastic and of large specific surface ratio, the inside of the filter medium can be cleaned, and by providing an upstroke compartment 2 and a downstroke compartment 3 where the same comes down and circulating them, a sufficient washing flow velocity can be secured with a small degree of aeration. Further, after by washing, the filter medium 5 is totally aerated by an air diffusion tube 7 provided at the lower section of the filter medium to make a filter medium layer almost of uniform thickness. By said process, even if the aeration quantity is small, washing can be carried out sufficiently, and aeration time can be shortened to one half of the time required for the existing method to eliminate short circuit flows and prevent uneven treatment performance for each treatment cycle.
