    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simultaneously improve exhaust gas performance and ensure output performance, by correspondingly correcting ignition timing to suitable when correcting fuel injection timing so as to suppress a deterioration of the exhaust gas performance, with reference to a control device for a cylinder injection type engine. SOLUTION: This control device for the cylinder injection type engine has an intake stroke injection mode, and directly injects fuel into a combustion chamber to ignite by an ignition plug provided in the combustion chamber. The control device for the cylinder injection type engine comprises an injection timing correcting means 62B correcting the injection timing by calculating injection timing correcting amount for correcting a basic fuel injection timing set by a basic fuel injection timing setting means 62A to a delaying side, in a driving state deteriorating the exhaust gas performance; and an ignition timing correcting means 63B correcting a basic ignition timing set by a basic ignition timing setting means 63A to an advancing side, on the basis of the injection timing correcting amount.

    • PURPOSE:To facilitate judgement of failure by making a judgment as failure when an actual position of an object does not reach a targeted position within a predetermined period of time after start of an operation of a direct current motor type positioning device suitable for driving a variable intake control valve for making the length of an intake system of an internal combustion engine variable. CONSTITUTION:A variable intake system provided in an internal combustion engine is provided with a variable intake control valve 11 positioned immediately at the lower stream of a surge tank 10 of a main intake passage 2 and a bypass intake passage 12 for bypassing the valve 11 and the surge tank 10. A positioning device is incorporated for controlling a valve opening degree of this variable intake control valve 11. This positioning device makes the valve opening degree of the variable intake control valve 11 variable by means of an operation of a DC motor 13 through a power transmission path 16. In this case, a revolution number sensor 29b for detecting a revolution number of a rotation axis included in the power transmission path 16 is provided so as to acquire an actual position of the valve 11. And after start of the control operation of this positioning device, when the actual position of the valve 11 does not reach a targeted position within a predetermined period of time, a judgment is made as failure of the positioning device.
