    • PURPOSE:To effect an accurate registration of the center of a container with the center of each treating device by a method wherein a transfer device is provided with a push-in device adapted for the force feed of only a predetermined number of containers into a secondary conveying line, while holding back a stream of the containers being conveyed by a conveying device. CONSTITUTION:A main conveying line 1 for carrying containers 4 on a conveyor 3 leads to the receiving end of an in-line conveying device 6 having a secondary conveying line 2 adapted for an intermittent force feed of a container 4a into a push-in device 5 provided at the end of the conveyor 3 in a direction perpendicular to the axis of the belt conveyor 3. The push-in device 5 consists of a L- shaped push-in plate 52 provided on a cylinder device 51, a stop plate 53 and a front plate 56 supported by an arm part 55 fixed to a bracket 54. When the push-in plate 52 moves forward, a temporary stop plate 52a is projected beyond the conveyor 3 to temporarily stop the travelling of the container 4 other than two containers 4a being pushed out. Therefore, the container during force feed is carried without tilting and transferred from the main conveying line 1 onto the secondary conveying line 2.

By this method, the center of this container 4a and the center of the operation end of each of an unstoppering part B, an unstoppering detection part C and a liquid recovery part D are registered exactly and automatically.
