    • PURPOSE: To simply remove selvages for making operations with safety by a method in which the fixing liner of a film stenter is extended toward a rising side and crossed with the rising portion in such a way as to avoid the intrusion of selvage ends cut into the aperture between the liner and the rising portion.
      CONSTITUTION: When a film 11 is cut off at the point A, etc., during the stretching process, a lever part 21a is contacted with a clip opener 9a in the outlet of a tenter, a clip lever 21 is turned around a fulcrum 0, and the film 11 is opened. Selvage 11a cut off is moved toward a rising portion 4b side with the movement of the clip lever 21, but since an aperture enough to avoid the intrusion of the end of the selvage 11a is formed between the liner 22 and the rising portion 4b, no intrusion of the selvage end into the aperture 14 between the liner 22 and the rising portion 4a takes place. The selvage 11a cut off is continuously discharged toward the outlet due to the rigity of the selvage, and therefore, safe treatment of the selvage 11a can be attained without stopping the machine.

    • PURPOSE:To constitute the above method so that the percentage of success in paper passing is improved by a method wherein film is cut, conveyed and fed to a holding part of a clip under a state where the film is held by a belt conveyor. CONSTITUTION:Cutting of an end part of a film 3 in a beltlike state is performed under a state where the end part of the film is held on a belt conveyor 6 conveying the same at the equal speed substantially to that of the end part of the film and conveyed as it is. Therefore, the end part of the cut beltlike film, which is free from a positional deviation and slackening, and the end part of the cut beltlike film can be fed and inserted into a holding part of a clip 2 precisely and stably. Then since the paper passing is performed by only the end part of the cut beltlike film, in the case where end part of the cut beltlike film cannot be held by the clip, that is, in the case where paper passing error is generated, the end part of the cut beltlike film of only on the side where the paper passing error is generated is cut off from the film. When the paper passing is performed by cutting the end part of the film again into a beltlike state, repaper passing becomes possible by performing neither stopping of a flow of a sheet nor changing of the flow.
