摘要： PURPOSE:To obtain a crucible for evaporating Al with long time maintainability, capable of prohibiting the penetration of molten Al thereto and of forming to larger sizes by forming a vitreous carbon layer contg. TiC or ZrC on the surface of the graphite crucible. CONSTITUTION:The vitreous carbon layer contg. the TiC or ZrC is formed on the surface of the graphite crucible. The above-mentioned carbon layer is obtd. by applying a slurry obtd. by adding about 3vol.% Ti, Zr powder or TiC, ZrC powder to an org. material liquid, such as phenolic resin, furan resin, or tar pitch, having a high residual content of carbon, onto the surface of the crucible, subjecting the coating to a heating treatment in a nonoxidation furnace to carbonize and vitrify the org. materials and to carbize the Ti and Zr. The penetration of the Al is prohibited by the vitreous layer which has no pores and gaps, is dense and contains the carbide hardly eroded by molten Al. The life of the graphite crucible for evaporating Al is thus prolonged.

CONSTITUTION:An aluminum vapor deposited film 3 is formed on the surface of an aluminum base material 1 and allowed to adhere to a passivating film 2 composed of aluminum oxide inevitably formed on the surface of the above base material 1. Subsequently, a vapor deposited film 4 of zinc is formed on the above vapor deposited film 3 and allowed to adhere to the above aluminum vapor deposited film 3. By this method, the vapor deposited film 4 of zinc having superior adhesive strength, etc., can be formed on the base material 1, by which corrosion resistance can be improved.

摘要： PURPOSE:To improve the productivity of plating as well as to make the use of a pollutive substance unnecessary by forming vacuum-deposited layers of Zn and Ni on the surface of a base material and alloying the metals by heating at a specified temp. CONSTITUTION:The surface of a base material such as a cold rolled steel sheet is activated by reduction in an H2 atmosphere at a prescribed temp. The activated surface is coated with Zn and Ni in layers by vacuum deposition, and the metals are alloyed by diffusion or melting in an atmosphere of a nonoxidizing gas at 300-500 deg.C to plate the surface of the steel sheet with a Zn-Ni alloy. Thus, a Zn-Ni alloy film having corrosion resistance comparable to that of a Zn-Ni alloy film formed by conventional electroplating is formed with high energy efficiency without requiring a pollutive electrolytic bath.

The mixture is compression molded by the calibers 9 provided to the briquetter 8 and is discharged as a molded briquette 10.

Hence, there are no fluctuations in the plating thicknesses in accordance with the change in the shutter opening length l1 in correspondence to the width of the steel strip, unlike in the prior art, and these make the operation easy.

The component ratios of the Pb vapor and the Zn vapor in this distribution 23 range are made uniform to the extent of not exhibiting any influence upon the quality of the plating layer by controlling shielding plates 18, 19. Particularly, the vapor deposition of a small amt. of only the Zn 24 of good adhesive strength to a steel plate 6 in the initial period of vapor deposition is made possible by controlling the plate 18, and therefore the adhesive strength of the plating is improved.
