    • PURPOSE:To classify the colors of recovered bottles automatically at a low cost with a high accuracy by a method in which an image processing apparatus divides an image into many small areas and selects a small area the color of which is to be judged from the differences between the brightness of each area and red, green, and blue components of a light diffusion plate to judge the color. CONSTITUTION:A bottle detection sensor 6 detects usually the presence of a substance from the change in the quantity of reflected light or transmitted light; a light diffusion plate 2, a translucent acrylic sheet, makes the light distribution of a light source uniform; a high frequency fluorescent lamp for image processing, etc., are used as the light source 1. A CCD camera is sensitive to the transmitted light through a testing bottle and sends its detection signal to an image processing apparatus 5. The apparatus 5 divides the image into many small areas, selects a small area the color of which is to be judged from the differences between the brightness of each area and red, green, and blue components of the light diffusion plate 2, and judges the color from red, green, and blue components of the area. In this way, with simple algorithm and arithmetic processing, the color can be judged by selecting an area of glass transmitted light avoiding parts with a lot of noise.

The output of each pressure sensor 3-1,...,3-n is introduced into a pressure gauge 8 where the value detected by each sensor is amplified. An output f1,...,fn of the pressure gauge 8 is inputted to a calculator 9 such as a microcomputer or the like. Since the pressure sensors 3-1,...,3-n are arranged equally at positions where the powdery substance collides against the bend portion, by obtaining the integrated value of each sensor by the calculator 9 for adding operation in the calculator 9, the sum of the integrated values which is proportional to the mass flow of the powdery substance can be obtained.

    • PURPOSE:To decrease man-hours and to improve working environment by automatically detecting and removing highly dangerous metallic materials, such as a gas cylinder, in the refuse to be carried into bulky refuse treating facilities and charging the materials exclusive of these materials to a crushing machine. CONSTITUTION:The refuse is subjected to image pickup by a TV camera 5 during the course of transportation. An image processor 7 extracts the characteristic of the shape from the signal sent thereto and sends the signal to a deciding device 8. The deciding device 8 compares the input with the preregistered characteristic of the shape of gas cylinder and calculates shape similarity. The device decides that it is a gas cylinder if the shape similarity is a prescribed value or above and sends its output to a third switching device 3c. This third switching device 3c delivers the refuse in a sixth direction an eighth conveyor 1i delivers the gas cylinder to the hazardous material housing box by dropping of the gas cylinder. On the other hand, a seventh conveyor 1h receives the charge of the refuse from a second conveyor 1c, a fourth conveyor 1e and the third switching device 3c and transports the refuse to the crushing machine. As a result, the hazardous materials in the refuse are automatically discriminated and operator can avert the dangerous environment.

    • PURPOSE:To detect abnormality of the stopper of a gas-contained or liquid- contained bottle automatically during fast conveying by providing respective means for the rotation of the bottle on its perpendicular axis, abrupt stopping, striking, its reverberation characteristic detection, and the comparison of its output with a reference value on a bottle conveyance line. CONSTITUTION:A bottle rotating and stopping device 1 while rotating the bottle 2 to be inspected on its vertical axis moves at the same speed with the bottle conveyance and stops rotating the bottle when a position detection sensor 8 detects the arrival of the bottle at an inspection position, a striking device 4 strikes the flank of the bottle 2, and a microphone 3 catches the sound and sends a signal to a processor 13. When the bottle 2 is rotated, the liquid in the bottle also rotates, and the looser its stopper is, the more air bubbles are produced; and the reverberation time of the detected sound at the time of the striking is short for an abnormal stopper and long for a sound stopper. A comparator 11 compares the output of the microphone 3 with a reference voltage level and outputs the result to a bottle rejecting device 12. Consequently, bottle abnormality can be detected automatically with invariably constant standards without intervention of the operator.

CONSTITUTION:The steel structure member 1 consists of a web 2 and upper and lower flanges 3. A rack 5 is mounted in a free run state on rails 4 which are laid on both lengthwise sides of the member 1. A laser oscillator 6 with a cross ruling device, laser oscillators 7 and 7 which project only laser spots, and the video camera 8 are mounted on the rack 5. A cross ruling line 11 is projected from the oscillator 6 so that the cross intersection point comes to the center of the web 2 and the cross lateral line contacts both edges of the flanges 3; and beam spots 12 and 12 are projected on the cross intersection point and the intersection of the longitudinal cross line and the weld surface of the flanges from the oscillators 7 and 7. Then the spots 12 and 12 are picked up by the camera 8, image processing 9 is performed, and the distance between the image points of the spots 12 and 12 is measured on a monitor TV 10 to detect the camber quantity 13.

    • PURPOSE: To prevent the spreading of the impact sound of water by covering a water surface where the impact sound is generated due to the dropping of overflow water from a gate with a sound-proof plate moving over a given height on the water surface in the downstream side of the gate in response to the opening or closing operation of the gate.
      CONSTITUTION: An overflow type gate 1 is extended from upstream side 2 to down-stream side 3 and pivotally attached to a bearing 5 through a shaft 6. Then, a sound absorber 8 built in a sound proof plate 7 is provided between bridge girders 4 and a pin 10 is pivotally attached to an arm 9 projectionally provided to the gate 1. And, the free end of the sound proof plate 7 is supported in a freely movable manner by a roller 12 provided at the top of a strut 11 erecting on the downstream side 3. Thus, even when the dropping position on which overflow water collides against water surface on downstream side 3 is moved by the opening degree of the gate 1, the sound proof plate 7 can be moved in response to the opening degree of the gate 1 and therefore, the spreading of the drop and impact sound of overflow water can be shielded and damped.
