SOLUTION: This polyester resin for expanded material is a polyester resin obtainable by polycondensation of a glycol containing 10-80 mol% glycol having a circular ether skeleton and a dicarboxylic acid, and has an intrinsic viscosity in the range of 0.3-1.2 (dl/g) measured using a mixed solvent of phenol and 1,1,2,2-tetrachloroethane with a mass ratio of 6:4 at 25 deg.C and a melt viscosity/ intrinsic viscosity ratio in the range of 1,500-5,000 (Pa.s.g/dl).

摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce a polyamide very advantageously by elevating the temp. of a mixture comprising a dicarboxylic acid component and a diamine component in a molar ratio lower than 1 under normal pressure in the substantial absence of a solvent, further adding the dicarboxylic acid component to the mixture, and conducting the polycondensation of the obtained mixture. SOLUTION: The temp. of a mixture comprising a dicarboxylic acid component and a diamine component in a molar ratio of 0-0.8 is elevated in the substantial absence of a solvent under normal pressure and the dicarboxylic acid component is further added to the mixture to conduct the polycondensation of the obtained mixture. The resultant polyamide is pref. a crystalline one having an m.p. of 330 deg.C or lower or an amorphous one (i.e., is required to be melt-polymerizable). The diamine component pref. contains 80mol% or higher at least one diamine selected from among 4-20C aliph. diamines, xylylenediamine, bis(aminomethyl)cyclohexane, and bis(aminomethyl)naphthalene.
