SOLUTION: The objective dialkyl carbonate of the formula (R is an alkyl, pref. 3-6C alkyl) is continuously obtained by feeding a reactor with (A) urea in such a state as to be dispersed in (C) a high-boiling point solvent >=180 deg.C in boiling point (pref. diphenyl ether) followed by reaction between the urea and (B) an alkyl alcohol (pref. a 3-6C alkyl alcohol, esp. pref. n-butanol) in the solvent C; wherein feed of the urea as described above becomes possible by equipping the reactor with a mixing tank pref. mounted with baffle(s), and it is preferable that the molar ratio C/A is 1-10 and the feed of the component B is at 1-3 mol per mol of the urea.
