    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stably perform vehicle guiding control by acquiring an absolute value of the horizontal position of a vehicle to a reference position that is set in the proceeding direction of the vehicle according to temporal phase difference at which diffusion codes that are used for spread spectrum modulation reach antennas that are provided at the left and right of the vehicle. SOLUTION: This system is provided with a transmitting antenna 102 that is equipped with a vehicle, plural receiving antennas 103a and b which are equipped with the vehicle, radio devices on a road which are arranged along the vehicle traveling direction on the road in prescribed intervals and send a spread spectrum modulation signal to the vehicle based on a signal that is sent from the antenna 102 and a radio device on the vehicle 1 which separately receives and inputs a spread spectrum modulation signal sent from the radio devices 2 on the road through the antennas 103a and b, demodulates a diffusion signal that is used for spread spectrum modulation of information from a receiving signal and detects the position of a self-vehicle according to phase difference of diffusion codes.

    • PURPOSE:To determine the distance with high accuracy by calibrating the time/ voltage conversion characteristics using the results of time/voltage conversion effected with precise time width thereby ensuring a positive calibration regardless of fluctuation in circuit elements, temperature variation, drift, etc. CONSTITUTION:A drive section 1 delivers a transmission start signal to a time/ voltage converting section 7 and a precise time width generating section 9. The generating section 9 delivers a stop signal to an OR circuit 11 with a predetermined accurate time lag behind reception of the start signal. The OR circuit 11 selects an output signal from the generating section 9 or a comparing section 6, being inputted earlier, and delivers the selected signal. A converting section 7 converts the time, elapsed after input of the start signal before input of the stop signal, into a voltage and the voltage level is detected at the time of input of the stop signal. A calibrating section 801 calibrates the time/voltage characteristics and delivers the calibration results to a distance calculating section 802.
